Here is a look at four high school volleyball players in the class of 2021 that have made commitments to in-state colleges.
Eleanor Beavin (PNK Volleyball, L, College: Kentucky): A libero from perennial KHSAA state title contender Mercy, Beavin competes for KIVA and has committed to the University of Kentucky. The back-to-back KVCA Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-State honoree, Beavin recorded 679 digs, 116 assists, 89 aces and 22 kills for Mercy during her junior season.
Kelsey Brangers (KIVA, L, College: Western Kentucky): A First Team All-State selection, Brangers has committed to Western Kentucky University. The libero from Central Hardin finished with 561 digs, 124 assists and 54 aces in her junior season. Along with Central Hardin (30-10), Brangers competes for KIVA.
Sequoia Hunt (KIVA, MH, College: Northern Kentucky): One of the state’s top middle hitters but an underrated player, Hunt competes for Oldham County (high school) as well as KIVA (club). The middle hitter from Oldham County led her team throughout the 2019 high school season and has committed to Northern Kentucky University.
Elena Scott (PNK Volleyball, S/DS, College: Louisville): A setter who has committed to the University of Louisville, Scott joined with Beavin to help lead Mercy to a state runner-up finish in the 2019 KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. Another First Team All-State selection, Scott posted 995 assists, 377 digs, 188 kills, 78 aces and 81 blocks for Mercy during her junior season. Scot was named the 2019 KVCA 6th Region Player of the Year.
