Last Minute Details Heading Into The Top 250 – Iowa and Nebraska
The weekend is here (almost), we can officially call it the weekend with national tournaments going on for NAIA, D2, and D1 where you can find high-level volleyball across multiple networks, including Prep Dig. I’ll admit, there is some doubt heading into these events because its something that is not always common in the volleyball world. Here are a few things to know heading into the Top 250 Event for all locations.
Check-In
Athletes will check in and receive a Prep Dig T-Shirt to wear during the showcase that will be a color associated with their graduating class.
Navy – Freshman
White – Sophomore
Black – Junior
Light Blue – Senior
Royal Blue – Staff
Athletes will also receive a stick-on number to put on the front and back of their shirt for coaches to see their number that is with their information on the coaches packet. They will also have their picture taken in front of our Prep Dig backdrop which they will get a digital copy and we can also use for our Prep Dig content as well.
With music going, athletes can warm up at their leisure as everyone starts trickling in (parents may stay as well, but be cognizant of the college coaches).
Run of Show:
Intro/Welcome |
Dynamic Warm-Up/Ball Control |
Stations – Each court with some type of competitive game to show overall athleticism and all-around play (split court 2 on 2, queens, etc), will also incorporate a testing station for approach touch, reach, and height |
Positionals |
Position Combinations (setters work with hitters, incorporate defensive players) |
Competition – 6 on 6 with free balls, wash drills, and serving |
Cool Down/Recruiting Questions (athletes cool down/stretch with court coaches with some time to chat recruiting questions) |
Closing |
VIDEO WILL BE AVAILABLE:
CMM Productions is a national video company that specializes in volleyball highlight videos across the country. We have partnered with CMM, who will have cameras on both baselines of each court. Athletes who purchase a highlight video will receive their top 7-10 clips from drills and gameplay. You can then utilize the highlight reel to send to college coaches and post on a recruiting profile.
If you would like to add on a highlight video, email events@prepdig.com
What’s Next:
Following the event, athletes will receive a follow up email asking for feedback on the event. At Prep Dig, we are always looking to improve our events from the registration process to the run of show and the coverage following. We look forward to working with these athletes and getting a head start on the 2020 club season.
