#8 for @WaukeeVB Layanna Green is so athletic and physical in the front row. She is also a state champion high jumper. pic.twitter.com/ch4UfYWFnI

Layanna Green – Iowa Power Plex 17U Elite Black (IA)
I may overuse this adjective from time to time, but Green is electric. She is one of the top high jumpers in the state of Iowa, winning a state title in 2019, and is an extremely dynamic middle with her jumping ability. Will be fun to see her compete in 17 Open where her speed an ability to attack off one foot will be tough to stop.
KisleyPaige Kisley – Flight 17U (IA)
Kisley is actually another top track athlete from Iowa where she was a state runner up in the 100 meter hurdles in her class. Her athletic ability translates to the outside where she was a Class 2A All State choice this past fall. With an aggressive approach and violent arm swing, Kisley is a tough matchup with a blend of speed and power.
Really strong middle back defense by both pins of @Minnesota1VB – Emma Grimm and Rachel Wieber pic.twitter.com/alunVF5YI0

Emma Grimm – Mizuno M1 171 (MN)
Chicago was the first chance I got to see Grimm play live and she was extremely solid from the outside as well as holding down the middle back. Grimm is a really consistent defender with the ability to serve receive on point. She is also creative with how she can score points from the pin. M1 17’s will be a really long and athletic line up and will look to build off a final four finish in 18 USA in Chicago.
Mariah Grunze – Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold (WI)
#12 AngelSolid and consistent. Grunze has been a mainstay for the Gold teams at Milwaukee Sting. With an older sister currently at Ohio State, Grunze is able to serve receive and has great court vision on what shot to use at the right time. She can go line, cross, or roll to the open spot of the defense. 17 Gold recently finished 3rd in a loaded Central Zone 17 Open Field.
Johnaizjha Angel – Iowa Select 17 Mizuno (IA)
Uber athletic, love watching Angel attack off of one foot. Angle plays out of the middle and is really fast twitch from her arm swing to her feet going from pin to pin to close the block. She is extremely key in the Iowa Select 17 Mizuno offense that has plenty of new weapons this year.
Megan Reilly – Northern Lights 18-1 (MN)
Reilly had a huge high school season for Northfield who was among some of the top large school programs in Minnesota. A really physical attacker who just puts a hammer on the ball, Reilly will be playing up on the Lights 18-1 squad. A definite prospect who has risen the past year, Reilly is a point scorer with a big arm to keep tabs on.
Madison Gully – Minnesota Volleyball Academy 17E (MN)
Solid in all six rotations, Gully shows athleticism as well as the ability to score points. Well trained from the pin, Gully takes what the defense gives her and will be relied upon by MVA this weekend with a group who has solid chemistry that has been playing together the past few years.
Teagan Starkey – MN Select 17-1 (MN)
StarkeyStarkey has really developed into a floor leader as a setter running the show all the way around. She has the length to really cause problems at the net offensively and can provide a big block as well. MN Select 17-1 has some new additions that include Anna Wolf, a Minnesota commit to go along with their pin, Skylar Gray who is committed to the Gophers as well.
Jaclyn Wise – FC Elite 17 Navy (WI)
Another athlete who can play multiple positions and is a solid six rotation player, being able to hit from either pin. The FC Elite 17 Navy squad is full of athletes who have the capability to play in multiple spots as well as being really solid with their first two contacts. Wise was a unanimous 1st Team All State athlete in Division 4 in Wisconsin.
Ryley Frye – Northern Lights 17-1 (MN)
Northern Lights 17-1’s will be looking to claim a bid early this weekend. With a really well balanced lineup, there is also plenty of depth. Ryley Frye will be one of the setters along with Nebraska commit, Kennedi Orr. Frye has the athleticism to be physical at the net as well as hold down her spot defensively to play at an extremely high level.
Anna Flynn – Club Ignit Select 17 Blue (IA)
PerrettSolid all around from her character to her style of play. Flynn is one of the top liberos in her class in the state of Iowa. Playing for one of the top large school programs in West Des Moines Dowling Catholic, Flynn knows what it takes to succeed at a high level and will be looking to lead her Club Ignit 17 Blue squad to a successful weekend.
Abby Thompson – MN North 17-1 (MN)
Long and athletic out of the middle, Thompson will be one of the top attackers and defenders for MN North which comes out of the Duluth area. I saw Thompson play multiple times last year including the Big City Luau and the Showcase in the Dells where she showed her overall strength and athleticism.
Grace Perrett – FC Elite 17 White (WI)
Perret is a six rotation outside who can also be relied upon to hold down the backrow. Solid in all facets of her game, Perret also has positive body language and a leader by example with her ability to make smart decisions from her passing along with being extremely efficient on the pin.
Kacy Nevitt – Club Ignit Select 17 Green (IA)
Nevitt brings a big block and a heavy arm to the net playing for Club Ignit Select 17 Green out of the Des Moines area. She can be used really anywhere in the front row, but most likely out of the middle or right side. This past December she showed plenty of power and versatility in the front line at the Prep Dig Iowa Top 250 Expo.
RandallJorie Randall – Adrenaline 18 Austin (IA)
Gritty, athletic, and a championship demeanor, Randall will be one of the key defenders for Adrenaline 18 Austin out of Cedar Rapids. Randall won a state title this past fall as the starting libero at Mount Vernon. She anticipates well, serve receives on point, and knows how to play during clutch moments. Adrenaline 18 Austin has plenty of weapons on their squad including two 2021 athletes committed to Iowa in Lauren Schrock and Sydney Dennis.
Elsa Sheperd – Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold (WI)
Sheperd is the type of player who just keeps getting better each time she steps on the court. She is going to bring consistent effort, high IQ, and a real knack for getting to the ball – shutting down the attacker. Sting 17 Gold will be a high tempo team that beat one of the top teams in the country in A5 17 Mizuno-Jing who is in the field this weekend.
Payton Lombardi – Six Pack 18U (IA)
Get used to the Lombardi name, Payton is the oldest of the sisters who will be coming through the ranks. Lombardi is another strong all around athlete who can play on the outside, but when it comes to high level club volleyball, she is a libero. Covers a ton of range and has a big upside to her game that will be fun to follow.
Lindsay Krznarich – Milwaukee Sting 18 Black (WI)
Krznarich is another athlete who has continued to improve time and time again. A middle blocker who could also play on the right side, at 6’2 Krznarich was a key part of Arrowhead High School’s run to a state title in Wisconsin’s largest class. Her physicality and strength along with her spark and energy is such an added bonus to any team.

Ammerae Peebles – Impact 18 National (WI)
PalmerImpact 18 National is out of the Appleton area and was a Gold Bracket team in the American Division of the Chicago Qualifier two weeks ago. Peebles is a DS/L who is extremely quick and provides a solid first contact. She is on a team that has four really solid Division 2 commits.
Linnea Willer – FC Elite 18 Elite (WI)
Willer provides a big arm on the pin and provides all the intangibles all great teams need with her energy and enthusiasm for her teammates and the game in general. An all around athlete who has been a major reason for her high school program being on the rise as well as being a key piece for for the FC Elite 18 Elite squad who only has two true 18s on the team from the Class of 2020.
Maren Palmer – Iowa Power Plex 17U Elite Black
Palmer will be one of the setters for a really athletic Power Plex squad. Palmer has the athleticism to play all the way around, dishing to plenty of dynamic power with the likes of Morgan Middleton, a powerful outside hitter who has committed to North Dakota State as well as another Division 1 commit in Grace Evans out of the middle who will head to Belmont.
