The players on the Red Oak Black team were:
Abbey Jones Abbey Jones DS/L Red Oak | 2021 State IA , a class of 2021 libero, with her last high school season stats of .907 serve efficiency with 30 aces, 4.68 APS, and 2.02 DPS. She is really one to watch in the 2020 high school season.
Alexis Johnson Alexis Johnson 5'6" | RS Red Oak | 2022 State IA , a class of 2022 outside hitter, with her last high school season stats of a hitting efficiency of .332 and 2.38 KPS, a .946 serve efficiency with 15 aces, 3.12 DPS, and 72 total blocks. I have watched Lexi play since she was 11 years old. She is always a fireball on the court and a real game-changer.
Tory Carrick, a class of 2022 right-side hitter, with her last high school season stats of 25 total blocks I look to see her utilized more in the coming season.
Chloe DeVries a class of 2021 setter, with the last high school season stats of .958 serve efficiency with 3 aces, 3.91 APS, and .85 DPS.
Elizabeth Carbaugh, a class of 2022 middle, Liz only played in 14 sets for her high school last season and had 10 total blocks. After watching her play at this Red Oak AAU tournament, I plan to see a lot more of her in next year’s reports.
Lainey DeVries, a younger player on this team, I expect to see more of her next fall.
Kamryn Wendt, a class of 2021 player, she saw time in 11 sets for Red Oak last season but had an ace, 2 assists, and 3 digs. She seems like a future all-aournd player for the Tigers.
These players really held their team together and won their team the championship this weekend. Nice job, Red Oak Black!
The players on the Glenwood roster were:
Madison Barrett, a young athlete with no stats yet in Quik Stats but performed well and I look forward to seeing much more of her in the coming years.
Alissa Brummer, a young athlete with no stats from high school yet but one to watch in the coming fall season for Glenwood.
Madison Camdon, another young athlete with no stats from last high school season and one to watch next fall.
Kamryn Crouch, Kamryn is another young athlete I have been hearing about from her club, Third Degree, and her coaches with not many stats to report. I’d keep an eye out for her next fall.
Kennedy Jones, a class of 2022 athlete, has a .922 serve efiiciency with 24 aces, and 66 total blocks from the 2019 high school season.
Coryl Matheny, a class of 2022 athlete, has a .889 serve efficiency and 1 block from last year’s high school season. Glenwood has a young team for AAU this year and are working to fill the spots of 7 seniors who will graduate this year.
Lauren Roenfeldt, another young player for Glenwood this AAU season working to replace seniors that are graduating in May.
Elle Scarborough- Elle is a class of 2021 all-aound player who was not playing on Saturday but her stats are phenomenal from the last high school season. She had .287 hitting efficiency, exactly 4.00 KPS, over 90% serve efficiency with 16 aces, 2.50 DPS, and 51 total blocks.
Nice job on the second-place finish today, Glenwood!
The players on the St. Albert Saintes roster were Mia Allmon, Reese Duncan, Elizabeth Elkins Elizabeth Elkins 5'9" | OH Council Bluffs St. Albert | 2021 State IA , Anna Helton, Madelyn Horvath, Allison Narmi, Lainey Sheffield, Lydia Sherrill, and Lauren Williams. Key players for the Saintes at this tournament were:
Elizabeth Elkins Elizabeth Elkins 5'9" | OH Council Bluffs St. Albert | 2021 State IA , a class of 2021 Thomas Jefferson transfer, is working to acclimate to Saint Albert’s this winter in preparation for fall volleyball. Her high school stats last season are 2.39 KPS, a .815 serve efficiency with 46 aces, 2.16 DPS, and 19 total blocks. It will be interesting to see what she can accomplish with this new team at Saint Albert.
Lauren Williams, a class of 2022 middle with stats last high school season has a .264 hitting efficiency with 2.10 KPS and 29 total blocks playing in 67 of the total 92 sets played by Saint Albert last fall.
Lainey Sheffield, a class of 2022 6-rotation player that has stats from 20 of the 92 stats played by Saint Albert last fall, has a .905 serve efficiency with 7 aces, 1.75 DPS, and 4 total blocks. Lainey is definitely one to watch next fall.
Allison Narmi, a class of 2022 middle, had key blocks in the middle this weekend. I like to note when athletes are learning and are looking to have break out seasons in the next year. I look for that from Allison next fall. She is a smart player and is starting to put it all together.
The players on the Red Oak Orange team were:
Jaylyn VanHouten,a 2022 athlete for Red Oak, only played in 1 set last fall and had 2.00 DPS.
Ashlyn Blackman, a class of 2022 athlete for Red Oak, only played 6 sets, had 100% serve efficiency and 1 DPS.
Payten Bass, a class of 2022 varsity athlete for Red Oak, only got to play in 5 sets and also had 100% serve efficiency last fall. That is some good use of your time on the court.
Lennon O’Neal, a class of 2022 varsity athlete for Red Oak, played in 8 sets, got 1 dig, 2 kills, and served 100% of her serves in bounds.
Joslyn Shum, Ryleigh Patterson, Jordan Carlson, and Lexi Fridolph are athletes also on the Red Oak Orange team. They did not have time with varsity last fall so I expect to see these young athletes take a much more involved role next fall.
Probably the most interesting team on Saturday was the Momentum Iowa team which consists completely of 8th grade athletes. The athletes on their roster were Kylen Billiet, Lauren Woods, Madalyn Weir, Hannah Mogensen, Bridget Spencer, Olivia Swanson, Megan Beecher, Raven Claw, and Sydnee Wynn. They made the Gold Tournament bracket…certainly some players to watch in the class of 2024!
