Hund’s biggest assets are in her ball control as a six rotation athlete and the competitive experience she has as a key element of the Elk River effort that saw them reach the class 3A state tournament in 2019. She looks comfortable in serve receive as she has balance through her footwork that allows her to create good angles. If she can translate that footwork to her approach patterns and develop consistent arm work through her swing she increases her level of impact in more facets of the game. As a 2021, she is playing up on the top 18s team for Crossfire.
Gracie Pierson – 2021 | 5’9 | OH/Opp | Club: SMV 17-Silver
The Lake City product has good versatility to be able to swing effectively from both sides of the court. She scores points through an aggressive arm swing that can produce good pace. She has a good foundation in her approach work to start slow to fast and when she manages a step-close at the ball she develops good lift and balance in the air for a healthy swing. Her versatility also includes the ability to step in and set a hittable second touch from the opposite position that has good location in the zone at the left pin.
Lauren Riniker – 2021 | 5’10 | OH/Opp | Club: Kokoro 17-1
When Riniker gets her feet to the ball she has the ability to put some pop on it. She develops good momentum in pursuit of the set and is capable of swinging effectively through a variety of zones including both pins and in response to crossing or tandem mid-tempo sets in the middle of the court. Riniker will increase her effectiveness if she can find a consistent footwork pattern when approaching out of serve receive and through transition off the net and back. Additionally, as she works to develop more range off of her arm, developing more deliberate use of her left arm to create more balance in the air will be helpful.
Kylee Sauers – 2022 | 5’7 | OH | Club: Velocity 17-1
Sauers is a product of Rockford High School. She was a key offensive piece throughout the high school season as a left side attacker. She shows a good arm swing as she develops a good bow and arrow that has capability of producing moderate power. As she also swings from the right side at times, she appears more comfortable and natural in her approach from the outside. Sauers is a sophomore playing up an age group and has time to develop more consistent footwork patterns in both serve receive and transition. As she is consistent in contacting the ball near the peak of her jump, a more dynamic movement with her arms will add elevation and appropriate momentum to the point of contact.

Wachholz continues to grow her game as a viable six-rotation athlete as she is increasing her range and velocity as an attacker at the net while also making big contributions in the back row on both sides of the ball. She is fluid in her approach and creates a nice arm that can score with power or off-speed control. She has good athleticism and brings with her high level training and competitive experience as a member of the tradition-rich high school program at Mayer Lutheran. She is part of a hitting corps of the MN Select 17-2 team that makes them a formidable foe in any match.
