<p>Freshman outside hitters from Louisville are flourishing in the 2020 club volleyball season. </p>
<p>Some freshmen from throughout the state are experienced varsity players while others are making names for themselves in the current club campaign. </p>
<p>Here are six Louisville freshman outside hitters to watch.</p>
<p><strong>Lauren Bohn:</strong> A 5-9 freshman outside hitter, Bohn is a student-athlete from Male High School. An underrated freshman who is showing the ability to deliver at the net, Bohn will look to contribute as a varsity player for Male High School later in the year. Currently, Bohn is competing for Union Asics 15-2. </p>
<p><strong>Alyssa Furlong:</strong> A 5-10 freshman outside hitter/opposite hitter, Furlong is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy. Able to contribute from multiple positions, Furlong has shown versatility throughout her volleyball career. Furlong is competing for KIVA 15 White. </p>
<p><strong>Sydney Helmers:</strong> A 6-1 freshman outside hitter, Helmers is a student-athlete from Assumption High School, home of the back-to-back-to-back state champion. A force at the net, Helmers is among one of the state's top young outside hitters as she was on the varsity roster for Assumption in 2019 and appeared in nearly two dozen of the Rockets' matches prior to the state tournament. Helmers is competing for KIVA 15 Red. </p>
<p><strong>Allison Moneypenny:</strong> A 5-9 freshman outside hitter, Moneypenny is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy. Early in her prep career, Moneypenny has emerged as a consistent player capable of hitting, passing and digging. Moneypenny is competing for Union Asics 15-2.</p>
<p><strong>Katie Poynter:</strong> A 5-8 freshman outside hitter, Poynter is a student-athlete from Mercy Academy. The productive Poynter reads opponent defenses well and is a solid passer. Poynter is competing for Union Asics 15-1. </p>
<p><strong>Alexis Strong:</strong> A 6-1 freshman outside hitter/opposite hitter, Strong is a student-athlete from Assumption High School. Possessing much potential, Strong is a solid passer who is showing the ability to be a go-to hitter as a varsity player later on in her prep career. Strong is competing for KIVA 15 Red. </p>
