Here are some Austin area ballers that are ready for the season to get back under way so they can unleash attacks on opponents. All of these young ladies can bang at the net. Majority of them are uncommitted as of now, so college coaches please take their names down if you don’t have them already. They are all from Austin Juniors Volleyball program which always has some amazing players. Each of these young ladies are on the AJV 17 Mizuno team which have competed against some of the best in the state and the nation this season.

Maya Johnson Maya Johnson 6'1" | MB Bowie | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-1 Middle/Outside (HS: Bowie/Club: Austin Juniors/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Johnson is a true high flyer. She is a part of the coveted 10-foot club. Actually in order for me to be extremely accurate, she touches 10’1”. She works harder than most players at working off the court in following her twitter account. This has led her to be looked at by many colleges so far. The fact that she touches so high isn’t what is great about her blocking ability. It is her ability to press over the net and seal it off from her opponents. She is a strong weapon in front of the setter, but in my onion she is almost unstoppable on the slide behind the setter. She is a show stopper on her club team. While she is on the radar of quite a few clubs, if you are a college coach, I would highly recommend that you get this kid on your short list ASAP. She will be LETHAL in a few years with the right technician as a trainer. Check her out NOW! We will have her ranked pretty high once the updates get finalized in a few months on our State Rankings.

Shanti Ramdeen Shanti Ramdeen 5'11" | MB Akins | 2021 State TX [2021] 5-11 Outside (HS: Akins/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Coppin St)
This high-flying middle from AJV can bang with the best of them. She is gifted with a strong upper body that she uses to demolish the ball out of her setter’s hands. What some may say she lacks in height, she truly makes up for in hang time and raw power. Miss Ramdeen plays with a calmness about her. She doesn’t look rattled on the court at all. She just verbally committed to Coppin State and she will definitely make an impact once she gets up there in a few years. She was sidelined with an injury for most of her junior season at school, so she will be back with a vengeance next year during her senior campaign. We are eagerly anticipating covering her this coming season. Stay tuned for more explosiveness from Shanti.

Tiffani Luedke Tiffani Luedke 5'10" | OH Vandergrift | 2021 State TX [2021] 5-10 Outside (HS: Vandergrift/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Tiffani comes in unranked so far on our state rankings, but that should change soon once the updates are done. What I love about her game is how she transitions off the net to get ready to hit. She has a deep touch point and that allows her to have so much momentum behind her approach. My favorite is when her and her setter connect with a fast tempo outside set. She attacks the split with authority. There are not a lot of flaws in her game as she can swing line to score as well. She is a true six rotation outside who can do well for a small school in college. I will be talking to coaches about her for sure.

Joselyn Roberson Joselyn Roberson 5'11" | RS Hays | 2022 State TX [2021] 5-11 Right Side (HS: Hays/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Certainly undersized for most 2021 right sides, this young lady is a high flyer who is capable of shutting down opponents just as her taller counterparts do. What is truly breathtaking is her lightning quick arm swing. She is a very gifted athlete who can play on both pins. I would love to see her get more opportunities to swing as she can be lethal at the net. She will do well at the collegiate level with someone who loves to train athletes. She could be considered a project to some, but I think it is a very project to start with in my opinion. I’m excited to see what she brings going into her senior season.

DeAndra Pierce DeAndra Pierce 6'0" | MB Austin | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-0 Middle (HS: Austin/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Austin areas 25-6A newcomer of the year makes the grade on this list. College coaches will drool once they see the raw natural athleticism this young lady brings to the table. Someone better scoop her up now as she will be off the market soon. She can fly AND she contacts the ball truly at the top of her touch point. Opposing blockers will get lucky to touch her attack. That much power should just not come from such a wiry frame, but it does. She hits with a ferocity that is so much fun to watch. She can hit both a high tempo behind a setter and fast tempos coming out of the middle in transition. That is the definition of athleticism on the court. Timing is everything in attacking and this young lady has no flaws when it comes to timing. She will definitely be on the rankings when I updated them in a few months.
There are many more bangers to come. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at nov8vb@yahoo.com
