Ames didn’t miss a step after helping the US national team take gold at the U19 World Championship in August and has been pivotal in Prosper’s run to the State Tournament. One of the top middles not only in Texas but in the country, she’s been playing outside hitter this season, where she can make an even bigger impact in the game. Her size and power are certainly the elements that stand out the most in Ames’ game, but she’s a solid all-around player and has been contributing all across the board. The senior’s productive season includes 548 kills, 160 blocks, 466 digs and 663 passes.

The top prospect in our recently-updated Class of 2024 Prep Dig State Rankings, Ames was an integral part of the American success in the tournament. The long middle appeared in eight of the nine American matches in the tournament and was always a reliable scoring option. The Nebraska commit ended the event with 84 points scored, with 63 kills and 21 blocks. She was the second-best American scorer in pool play matches against Korea and Serbia, getting 18 and 15 points respectively.

The top middle blocker and the second-best-ranked player in our Class of 2024 Prep Dig State Rankings, Ames will lead Drive Nation 17 Red in the 17 Open division. She’s a beast in the middle, who typically overpowers her opponents with her excellent physical and technical tools. Ames has everything in terms of size, power and coordination and is a phenomenal offensive player and also an excellent blocker, but has a lot more in her game, especially after she played outside hitter during the last high school and had excellent production with her passing and defense as well.
