Smith has a good foundation of skills as a middle blocker. She moves around the floor well through her blocking footwork as well as in her transition to attack. She offers a good presence at the net defensively with her reach as she has potential to fill up good space when blocking. Offensively, with more efficiency in her footwork she will become even more effective in her availability and point scoring. She offers a good range of attacking options around the setter, which should be a nice tool for her Minnetonka team that will be looking to repeat their 2019 success.

Wachholz has good pedigree she brings with her to the volleyball court. With experience at MN Select and with the ultra competitive and successful Mayer Lutheran program, she understands the important facets of skill development, efficiency, and competition. She provides a nice arm on the outside as she has ability to create a good bow and arrow that can increase her speed and range. Defensively, at 5’10, she can create good range around the floor in pursuit of the ball. As a multi-sport athlete she brings athleticism that includes good quickness. She will be looked upon this fall to increase her point scoring on the pin with the departure of a couple of key offensive pieces for the Crusaders.

Steffes provides a calming yet confident presence in the back row. She plays with a simple style that seemingly lets the game come to her. She is patient in her preparation and uses good eye work to react well and relative to what the play requires without much wasted effort. She understands angle creation well and can produce good control in serve receive and in pursuit of the ball in any direction defensively. She is also an aggressive server with the ability to target locations with good pace and accuracy. Her play will be key to Champlin Park’s upcoming season in helping create a lot of offensive opportunity for the Rebels.

State
MN
– 6’1 | OH | HS: Shakopee | Prep Dig #98
Rolley is a key returning member for the Shakopee arsenal. She has a long presence on the outside pin with one of her greatest strengths being in her arm control. She can swing aggressively to challenge the block or with good movement to put pressure on the defense to have to make a big play. She sees the court well throughout her approach pattern and makes good decisions at the point of contact. Other areas that she contributes well are at the service line and in her blocking. She creates good ball movement when serving and her length helps her to put up a good block. Shakopee is always in the mix late in the season and Rolley will be a key element if they are to make a good run in 2020.

Irondale | 2021
State
MN
– 5’10 | OH | HS: Irondale | Club: MVA | Prep Dig #99
Tacheny is effective on the right side as her contact point is high at the peak of her jump and includes quick snap and follow through to create some good pop and pace. She has the ability to swing through the ball or wrist away in attacking gaps in the block well. A key attribute to her play is that she has an aggressive mindset and does not shy away from getting up and challenging once she elevates. She gets a lot of opportunities at opposite and will increase her effectiveness by improving her foot speed and developing quicker and more efficient transition work off the net. She is a returning Suburban East honorable mention selection and will once again be a key offensive weapon for Irondale this next fall season.
