Continue ReadingWhen discussing volleyball coaches much of the recognition is given to those who have tallied countless wins, given years of service, and been around for decades. We appreciate their dedication to the sport, but the sport is always changing. Along with these changes, come new faces looking to impact the game and players. New ideas, first-hand experience and the ability to connect make these young adults a worthwhile part of the volleyball community. Here are the first 20 (in no particular order):
Jill Oftedahl age: 28 Rochester, MN |
A Stewartville Tiger native, stayed close to home playing at the Rochester Community and Technical College. Now, she has spent her time coaching at Southern Minnesota Volleyball and helping start the boys volleyball program in the area. |
Courtney Robison Dixon age: 28 Louisville, KY |
The new face of KIVA volleyball club and former Cardinal, regualarily posts video workouts for club member to keep them active during the COVID-19 downtime. Her energy and smile are contagious and report with athletes is inspiring. She is the Youth Director for the club ensuring a strong future for the program. |
Tyler Boddy Marshall, MN |
Boddy is the assistant coach at SMSU in Marshall. He is a postive male fixture working with the college athletes and club players alike. A great technical coach with a natural way of motivating athletes. |
Kathleen Brennan age: 30 Milwaukee, WI |
This former Marquette club athlete, passes on more than volleyball knowledge as a teacher at Divine Savior of Holy Angels. She coaches during the high school season there and is the head coach for Milwaukee Sting 14 Silver. Her influence on these young student athletes does not go unnoticed and we applaud her efforts. |
Brie Orr age: 30 Iowa City, IA |
Being an influencer is not limited to coaches; Brie Orr has a large social media presence and is admired by many young, adoring fans. She will be the senior, setter for the Iowa Hawkeyes. We love seeing her TikTok videos, volley vlogs during quarantine, and even takes us with her as he travels for competition. She is relatable, works hard, and is an outstanding role model. |
