It’s ranking time and there was some movement. Hopefully, we got to see you or your daughter play before the pause. We know there is more to a player than a stat number or their team’s record. Prep Dig uses the rankings to track these players’ development throughout their high school volleyball careers. By no means should you allow any list define your worth as a player, since we try our best but may not see everyone enough to give the most accurate assessment. We hope to see everyone at their best, but we catch them on their bad days sometimes too.

One thing I love to see is players who work hard to rise in the rankings! The rankings are always changing and evolving as Prep Dig continues to watch closely and find new players to add. One of our goals is to introduce as many players as we can to our readers’ college coaches. The following are just some of the amazing 2021 middle blockers who have recently shown their amazing leadership skills and work ethic.

[player_tooltip player_id="56477" first="Elizabeth" last="Danelski"] – 5’10 – Oconomowoc – VC United 171 Elite
Danelski helped her team to another state championship match. She is just one of many weapons for the Racoons while they look for some new blood to take charge of the first and second contacts in 2020.

[caption id="attachment_89146" align="alignright" width="300"] Monica LaFleur[/caption]

Monica LaFleur – 6’2 – Arrowhead – Milwaukee Sting 17 Black
LaFleur continues to develop and grow. She made the Badger Region Youth High Performance Team last summer, took a starting middle position for Division 1 State Champion Arrowhead in the fall, and most recently made the 17 Black team after being on 16 White in 2019. LaFleur is playing among some top notch talent year round, and I think her future college commitment wll certainly reflect that. I just can’t wait to see where she goes!

[caption id="attachment_88435" align="alignleft" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="80729" first="Molly" last="Lawlis"][/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="80729" first="Molly" last="Lawlis"] – 5’10 – Pacelli – Wisconsin Ice 18 National

Lawlis is playing with the big kids on the 18 National squad in 2020 after having an outstanding junior season at Pacelli. She moves quick laterally, drives hard to attack, and is a real spark on the court. Lawlis not only led her team to a conference championship but also received the honor of being name Central Wisconsin South Conference’s Player of the Year.

[caption id="attachment_89147" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="80748" first="Randi" last="Wellhoefer"][/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="80748" first="Randi" last="Wellhoefer"] – 6’2 – Oshkosh West – Milwaukee Sting 17 White
Wellhoefer is long and has a high reach. She is an absolute force at the net with great timing. Wellhoefer hit a solid .293, with 251 kills, and 99 blocks in 2019 while helping lead her team to a 31-13 record. With a strong 2021 squad, the Wildcats should be one to watch out for in 2020.
