As the senior class of 2020 will be graduating, Coaches are looking to the future for possible newcomers to fill the empty holes on the roster. Below are four Northern Kentucky Setters in the hunt!
Tess Noll (Notre Dame Academy) : As Notre Dame Academy graduates Transylvania Commit Grace Ward Grace Ward S Notre Dame | 2020 State KY , the Pandas are in need of a setter who can step-in and continue to lead in a competitive program. Noll, while on the roster for the 2019 season, competed mainly as a serving and defensive specialist. At 5’9, Tess is a quick and dynamic setter who moves well on defense too. She has the full potential to run a 5-1 at the Varsity Level. Noll is competing this club season for Tri-State Elite 17 White.
Aubree Depenbrock (Connor High School) : While the cougars will not be graduating a setter in 2020 adding Depenbrock as a setter would allow the program to run a 6-2 adding more offensive options to the team. While she will only be a freshman, she competed in 2019 for their Junior Varsity team. Depenbrock is a natural athlete who has immense strength. Her ability to control the ball when out-of-system is what truly makes her a competitor for a varsity role. Currently Depenbrock is competing for NKYVC 14 Tide this club season.
Kori Reckers (Newport Central Catholic) : Newport Central Catholic graduates two setters in the 2020 Senior Class. The program will need a setter who is able to play and lead at a high-level. Reckers may be the answer they need. While she will only be a freshman, she has competed for NCC’s Freshman and Junior Varsity teams for the past two years – as a 7th and 8th Grader respectively. Reckers is a very knowledgeable and fundamental driven setter. Currently she is a setter on NKYVC 14 Tide.
Molly Chun (Notre Dame Academy) : Another candidate for NDA would be 2019 Junior Varsity Setter Molly Chun. Chun, who will be a junior, is a firecracker on the court and is always focused on getting to the ball. While she has no previous varsity experience, her effort and attitude make her a possible dark horse for the 2020 season. Chun is competing for NKJV 16 Blue this club season.
