Here are five 11th Region liberos to watch.
Olivia Bennett: A sophomore libero, Bennett is a student-athlete from Bryan Station High School. Bennett will take on a larger role for Bryan Station (25-12) during the 2020 high school volleyball season. In the first half of her prep career, Bennett has emerged as a consistent performer. Bennett is disciplined and possesses solid ball control skills while being a solid passer and an even better digger.
Caroline Cole Caroline Cole DS/L Dunbar | 2021 State KY : A junior libero, Cole is a student-athlete from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Cole helped to lead Paul Laurence Dunbar (29-10) to the 2019 43rd District Championship. Paul Laurence Dunbar finished as the 11th Region Runner-up in 2019. Cole, who was among the contributors for Paul Laurence Dunbar during the 2019 season, has shown the valuable ability to cover the court and create scoring chances for her team.
Jekylah Cook: A sophomore libero/defensive specialist, Cook is a student-athlete from Frankfort High School. Among the leaders for Frankfort in 2019, Cook contributed throughout her most recent prep campaign. Cook thrives in the back row, both as a passer and digger. An experienced player, Cook anticipates a variety of attacks well and routinely gets herself in a position to make digs.
Hannah Engle: A freshman libero/defensive specialist, Engle is a student-athlete from Franklin County High School. Engle appeared in 19 of Franklin County’s matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Versatile, Engle is a good communicator who has the quick reactions needed to produce. Stout in serve-receive, Engle is a precise passer.
Riley McChord: A sophomore libero/defensive specialist, McChord is a student-athlete from Lafayette High School. McChord chipped in for Lafayette (26-10) in 2019, helping the squad notch over 25 wins. Among the most underrated Class of 2022 volleyball players in the state, McChord is a defensive standout who uses her athleticism to cover the court and make tough digs regularly.
