Here are five 5th Region middles to watch.
Madison Brown: A junior middle hitter/outside hitter, Brown is a student-athlete from Thomas Nelson High School. A proven leader for Thomas Nelson, Brown logged 238 kills, 40 blocks and 123 digs in the 2019 high school volleyball season. Quick reacting, Brown reads opposing hitters consistently and hits wells from the left side.
Jasmine Carroll: A junior middle blocker, Carroll is a student-athlete from Central Hardin High School. Carroll was among the leaders for Central Hardin throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording 198 kills, 69 blocks and 44 digs in 34 matches. Carroll, who paced Central Hardin (30-10) in kills during the 2019 season, uses quick attacks on offense regularly and is a solid blocker.
Sarah Clark: A freshman middle blocker/setter/opposite hitter, Clark is a student-athlete from Elizabethtown High School. One of the most versatile volleyball players in the 5th Region, Clark registered 94 blocks, 58 kills and 38 digs in 35 matches for 5th Region champion Elizabethtown in 2019. Clark has a diverse skill set which allows her to contribute in numerous categories, executes fast attacks effectively and is an underrated passer.
Makayla Green: A junior middle blocker, Green is a student-athlete from North Hardin High School. Green was a leader for North Hardin throughout the 2019 prep season, pacing her team in both kills and blocks. One of the most underrated high school volleyball players in the 5th Region, Green is a stout blocker who hits quickly and routinely covers a large portion of the net.
Kaylyn Smith: A sophomore middle hitter/middle blocker, Smith is a student-athlete from Campbellsville High School. Smith registered 173 kills, 40 blocks and 148 digs for Campbellsville during the 2019 prep volleyball season. Athletic, Smith provides a strong presence in the middle, digs regularly and blocks well both individually and in tandem.
