Here are five versatile 5th Region seniors-to-be.
Nicole Duplantis: An outside hitter/right side/defensive specialist, Duplantis is a senior-to-be from Taylor County High School. A key contributor for Taylor County, Duplantis posted 121 digs, 169 digs and 42 service aces during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Duplantis is a proven playmaker who elevates well at the net and hits consistently from both sides.
Emma Howell: A setter/outside hitter, Howell is a senior-to-be from Green County High School. A leader for Green County during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Howell logged 353 kills, 225 assists and 61 service aces in 36 matches. Howell is a precise passer in addition to being a stout hitter from the left side.
Presley Payne: A defensive specialist/setter, Payne is a senior-to-be from Elizabethtown High School. Payne was instrumental during Elizabethtown’s run to the 2019 5th Region title, registering a team-high 366 digs along with 51 service aces and 27 assists. Among the most athletic players in the 5th Region, Payne digs and pursues consistently. Payne runs offenses efficiently and is a vocal leader.
Autumn Ridge: A right side/libero/defensive specialist, Ridge is a senior-to-be from John Hardin High School. One of the top players for John Hardin, Ridge can contribute from various positions while making easy transitions. Athletic and an intelligent player, Ridge is a strong hitter from the right side who excels defensively.
Skylar Wilcher: A libero/outside hitter, Wilcher is a senior-to-be from Marion County High School. Wilcher was effective for Marion County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording 107 kills, 270 digs and 43 service aces in 37 matches. A defensive standout that can produce as a go-to hitter, Wilcher is an underrated server.
