"The pick is in."

ROUND 8

[player_tooltip player_id="86644" first="Ava" last="Blascziek"] - 5'10 | S | Lakeville North
This is a great opportunity to add one of the better rising setter prospects from this class, especially given that Blascziek is a dual threat as a floor general and right side attacker. Her skill set fits nicely with other personnel on that side of the floor. Blascziek has been the primary setter for a solid Nothern Lights 15-2 team helping guide an offense that has some good offensive weapons across the three front row positions. She has good movement and footwork to get herself prepared early and on balance to take the second contact. With high hand position she is developing good deception in her delivery. As a right side she has a good arm and is athletic and physical enough to put up a block that can be disruptive to opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id="73469" first="Avery" last="Bolles"] - 5'9 | OH | Andover
Bolles was a NW Suburban all-conference selection in 2019 as she provided a lot of offense for her Andover team. She has some of the best movement and approach work in this class with great footwork and double-arm lift that helps her elevate with good balance in the air. Combine her arm and torque with great awareness of what is available to her when attacking and you have an athlete that can create a lot of pressure for an opponent through every opportunity. She can swing for power, with good movement and range, and with crafty off speed placement. She has great six-rotation skills and competes with great confidence and competitiveness like a veteran.

[player_tooltip player_id="73471" first="Mya" last="Cinnamo"] - 5'9 | OH | Rosemount
Cinnamo has such a high ceiling as she is very athletic and developing great versatility to score points on both sides of the court. Her lift off the floor is quick and explosive and helps create a high contact point in the air that provides options for her. She can swing over the block and to the deep court, rip the seam, or challenge hands with good power. She saw a lot of opportunity for Rosemount on the left side during her freshman season in 2019. With her Northern Lights 15-2 team she showed great range and point scoring ability at opposite. She is definitely an athlete to keep track of as she has developed into a steady contributor and will undoubtedly have plenty of opportunity to swing and continue to raise her stock during the 2020 high school season.

Along with the power and range that McDougall can bring as an attacker, she has some of the best court vision and awareness when approaching the ball. It starts with her footwork and ability to step-close to the ball well based upon the set location, which allows her to swing aggressively in most situations and through most options and opportunities. At 6'0, she has good length on the defensive side as she can put up a big block while also covering a lot of court with good pursuit in all directions. She will provide good physicality and depth to an East Ridge program that should be touted as one of the favorites at the start of the 2020 high school season.

As a middle primarily, she sees the ball well in transition and has good understanding of timing and spacing with her setter. She also has good footwork to be able to swing from the pins when needed. Her reach and contact point when in the air creates advantage for her often at the net. She shows good patience and first step reaction when blocking and has good movement both directions to establish herself well against opposing attackers. She saw a lot of offensive opportunity during the high school season and played among a well rounded roster for her MN Select team this club season. Minnema is a good addition Team Blue as the ball control and arms around her will allow her to do her work without pressure and through moderate volume.

[player_tooltip player_id="86636" first="Sydney" last="McDaniel"] - 5'11 | RS | Breck
McDaniel adds a great dimension to this roster. She is an athletic, left-handed right side attacker that can contribute well both offensively and as a blocker on the defensive side. She has good movement from transition to approach and develops good momentum and timing. As a blocker her preparation is deliberate as she loads well towards her pin responsibility while maintaining good eyework on the opponent's pass and setter. This helps position her well relative to the attacker's arm meeting the ball. She finishes by getting up and over with strong hands. She will be a key element for Breck in 2020 as they have a couple of offensive elements that should help them compete well throughout the season.
