Here are six 2nd Region players on the rise.
Arian Gregory: Poised to take the floor as a sophomore defensive specialist/libero, Gregory made an impact for Madisonville-North Hopkins when she was a freshman in 2019. Gregory played in 35 of Madisonville-North Hopkins’ 36 matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season, logging 151 digs. A defensive standout, Gregory digs and produces consistently and connects as a back row hitter.
Hailey Hallmark: Preparing for the start of her junior season, Hallmark is a middle hitter/outside hitter/right side from Hopkinsville High School. Hallmark contributed for Hopkinsville throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, finishing in the Tigers’ top five for kills. Versatile, Hallmark can hit from various parts of the floor and excels as a blocker.
Kylie Hardison: Nearing the start of her junior season, Hardison is a setter/defensive specialist from Webster County High School. Hardison took the floor in each of Webster County’s 33 matches during the 2019 season, posting 125 assists, 48 digs and 32 service aces. An accurate passer, Hardison is a vocal leader and identifies blockers efficiently.
Julia Thomas: Headed into her freshman season at University Heights Academy, Thomas, a right side/middle hitter, gained valuable experience as an eighth grader during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Thomas appeared in 30 of UHA’s 36 matches during the 2019 campaign. Thomas possesses solid jumping ability and is an aggressive hitter from the right side.
Savannah Scott: A junior-to-be middle hitter/right side, Scott is from Caldwell County High School. Scott appeared in all 36 of her team’s matches during the 2019 prep volleyball season, recording 31 kills. A solid all-around team player who showed consistency as a sophomore, Scott blocks well in tandem and individually while using her mobility to contribute as a right side.
Riley Smith: A freshman-to-be, Smith is a defensive specialist from Crittenden County High School. Smith is among the top young defensive specialists in the 2nd Region. Expected to make a large impact for Crittenden County in the 2020 season, Smith is quick and manages to deliver digs routinely by using her athleticism. Still underrated, Smith is due for a breakout season.
