In the last article we discussed three talented players from all over Texas that are prototypical height players that college coaches love to have on their rosters. Since Texas has it’s fair share of players over 6 feet tall, I figured I would spread this article around the state a little. Without further ado, here are the players in volume 5.

[player_tooltip player_id="87433" first="Jamison" last="Wheeler"] [2021] 6-1 Outside (HS: Lake Travis/Club: Austin Skyline/ Verbal: SMU)

Jamison is the 44th ranked prospect in the 2021 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. This long-legged six rotation outside hitter is a joy to watch on the pins. She take a very mean approach to the ball and then explodes with a strong arm swing to blast away at opponents. She has a nasty line shot on the left side. Just when you think she is going to swing cross-court, she is able to torque her upper body to paint the line with ease. This kind of deception will keep her as a scoring machine. It is no wonder that she is verbally committed to SMU. She is a very solid serve receive passer and can also excel at attacking from the back row. Her main weapon on the court has to be her ability to control her upper body so well during her attack. It is very refreshing to see. We will keep an eye on her as she goes into her senior year looking to build on what she already has accomplished.

[player_tooltip player_id="87475" first="Bailey" last="Miller"] [2022] 6-2 Outside (HS: Boles/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Miss Miller comes in as the 10th ranked prospect in the 2022 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She has been a starter on her varsity high school program since bursting out on the scene as a freshman two years ago. As a freshman that season she led her team in both blocks and kills. That is very impressive to do as a freshman. Since then she has been on a tear getting better on the court and in the classroom where she is also in the top 10 percent of her class. She is a lengthy outside hitter who is a part of the famed ten-foot club meaning she can approach touch ten feet high. This past season she earned second team all-state honors and was also the offensive player of the year for her school’s district. This young lady has a very bright future and many college scouts have taken notice already. She is definitely a college athlete in the making.

[player_tooltip player_id="87513" first="Kylie" last="Nott"] [2022] 6-1 Outside (HS: Rockwall/Club: Dallas Premier/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Kylie comes in as the 48th ranked prospect in the 2022 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She has a solid frame that is built for the collegiate game. She will do well at the next level as her body will benefit from a great strength and conditioning program. Miss Nott is a true banger on the pins. She hits a very heavy ball. You can hear it from courts away. She attacks the ball at the true peak of her jump and contacts extremely high above the net. It will be very difficult for opponents to stop her because of that height she contacts at. Once you add power to that, you have a very deadly combination. She has a lethal line shot from both pins and she scores at a very high clip with it. I could watch her hit line over and over again and still be in amazement. She will only get better during her junior and senior seasons. She is also a very good swing blocking right side who times and presses so well to seal the net against her opponent. Take a look at this kid and you wont be disappointed. She is one to watch.

Be on the lookout for the rest of this series as we tap into more players who are blessed to be tall and play with such great skills. Stay tuned for more players in our next article. If you have any other players you think we should highlight, please email me at nov8vb@yahoo.com.
