There are always the typical names that pop up when it comes to top outside hitters in the state, but Wisconsin is loaded in outside hitters who find creative ways to score points as well as serve a variety of roles on their team. Some are by far the go to, others might be the L2, either way they are contributing in positive ways for their side of the net. These athletes were in action Sunday either at the Wisconsin Lutheran Team Camp or the Prep Dig Summer League at Milwaukee Sting. Don’t sleep on these athletes heading into the 2020 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="56502" first="Robi" last="Binagi"] - Kettle Moraine - Class of 2021

High academic student and high IQ player, Binagi just electric on the court when she swings from the pin. She can leap and swing providing a ball that is tough to pass cleanly. KM is looking to build off a state tournament appearance where they have plenty of key pieces back. Binagi will look to be a big point-scorer along with one of the top Sophomores in [player_tooltip player_id="91875" first="Grace" last="Grocholski"].

[player_tooltip player_id="90606" first="Stella" last="Zarlin"]g - Kettle Moraine Lutheran - Class of 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="21871" first="Elle" last="Truckenbrod"] will be the go to outside hitter with her experience and all around ability, but Zarling will be the perfect complement to Truckenbrod. Zarling can pass, serve receive, and is creative with how she can score points. She knows how to use the block and hit all the angles to get the defense out of position or to terminate. The Chargers have some scary combinations working together and once they have more reps and full gym time they will be a well oiled machine.

[player_tooltip player_id="56496" first="Payton" last="Kuepers"] - Lakeside Lutheran - Class of 2021

Kuepers will see a heavy dose of swings this upcoming season. And rightfully so. She has the strength and stamina to carry her Lakeside Lutheran team. The Warriors pulled double duty on Sunday competing at the WLC Team Camp, finishing third and then went to the other side of town and played two matches at the Sting Center. Kuepers showed she can score points on the pin, but she can attack and score on the right side and in the backrow as well.

Kenzie Hanson - Luxemburg-Casco - Class of 2021

Aggressive approach and violent attacker, Hanson is like a pitcher in baseball/softball where her approach is the same each time, but it is incredibly tough to read her shot. She will tip to the deep corner, roll to the middle of the court, deep roll to the opposite corner, or just blast away. Highly efficient and rock solid in the back row is exactly what all teams need from their pins.

[player_tooltip player_id="81256" first="Aspen" last="Jankowski"] - Cedarburg

Jankowski is extremely consistent with everything she does. An all around play who can do it all, she is just natural with how she can score points on the outside. She has great hand contact with the ball, has all the angles, and is extremely solid in the backrow - even setting if her team needs her too. She has always played up an age level on Sting teams and it’s hard to believe she still has two years left of high school ball. She will see plenty of swings for Cedarburg this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="81321" first="Grace" last="Schneider"] - Wisconsin Lutheran (Title Photo)

Schneider has really stood out for Wisco so far this summer and is really developing into a six rotation scoring threat. She can recognize the block and swing down the line or hard cross. Fundamentally sound, great swing, and definitely has the ability to take over a match, she will be so key as the key go-to outside for the Vikings this upcoming season. This team is still settling into new roles, but once they do….watch out!
