We start with our 2021 Update that was published on Wednesday July 8th. We had some serious movement with some players sliding up the charts from our initial publication of the State Rankings in April. Here are just a few of the Stock Risers in the 2021 class that stood out and moved up for their senior year.
Bre Kelley Bre Kelley 6'3" | MB Rockwall Heath | 2021 State TX 6-3 Middle (HS: Rockwall Heath/Club: Excel/Verbal: Florida)
Miss Kelley has made the biggest jump in our rankings list by going from being ranked as the 19th best volleyball player to the 2nd best volleyball player in the state of Texas according to our Prep Dig rankings. I originally wrote about his Florida commit earlier in April in our loved series called Everything’s Definitely Bigger in Texas. She was named to the USA Volleyball youth national team. She helped the USA take home the gold at the NORCECA Championships and qualify for Worlds. Florida has some great volleyball players in its state, so when a player from Texas is recruited to one of the best programs in the country, it says a lot about the player. She is the real deal who can touch 10’5” with her approach vertical. She is a very gifted athlete who hits with so much power. This young lady seriously has it all. I think she is one of the most athletically gifted players in the nation regardless of class. I can’t wait to see what she does this coming season being a senior. If you don’t know who she is by now, she will definitely make you remember the name once you watch her play.
Samantha Jacobs Samantha Jacobs 6'0" | OH Prosper | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-0 Outside (HS: Prosper/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Alabama)
Samantha moved up one spot from being ranked as the 21st top player to being the 20th ranked prospect in the State of Texas. I previously wrote about Sam in the Article titled Dominant Dallas Area Attackers. Having a 29 inch vertical, this young lady can soar and score and will. She has been gifted with a golden arm that she will take to the University of Alabama in a few years and will definitely help the Tide Roll. She is one of many on the star studded Prosper High School volleyball team that has one state championship and two other deep runs at State. I think they are due for one more historic run this coming season. Keep your eyes on Miss Jacobs and her crew as they look to continue their dominance on the court in high school for her senior season. As for club, in 2019 her amazing Skyline team medaled in the Open division of USA Nationals. She is a very talented player who is a “go-to” player in crunch time for any team she plays for. When your team needs a kill, Sam is the one who wants the ball and every coach will give her the Green Light to swing away. You will see her and her Prosper High School team in the State playoffs this year. She will not disappoint .
Bria Woodard Bria Woodard 6'2" | OH Episcopal | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-2 Outside (HS: Episcopal/Club: Houston Skyline/ Verbal: Texas A&M)
Cimone Woodard Cimone Woodard 6'2" | MB Episcopal | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-2 Middle (HS: Episcopal/Club: Houston Skyline/ Verbal: Texas A&M)
Bria and Cimone are twin sisters and they both moved up one spot in the rankings. Bria is now 40th and Cimone is now 45th on our State Rankings. These twin sisters and their Episcopal high school team will have another good shot at back to back Southwest Prepatory State Championships during their senior season. They will astound you with their amazing athleticism and how they command the court with their presence. They also play for one of the best teams and clubs in the Houston area with their Houston Skyline program. They will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come and you can see them in college in two years as they will both be at Texas A&M and compete in the tough SEC conference for the Aggies. We are definitely excited to cover them for one more year.
