Several juniors from Kentucky high schools are carrying momentum over into the 2020 high school volleyball season.
A look at five Stock Risers in the Prep Dig Kentucky Class of 2022 Rankings follows.
Abby Schaefer Abby Schaefer 5'8" | DS/L St. Henry | 2022 State #174 Nation KY (6): A libero from St. Henry, Schaefer is committed to Western Kentucky University. Schaefer was a leader for perennial title contender St. Henry in 2019, ending the most recent high school volleyball season with 498 digs, 58 service aces and 32 assists. The Western Kentucky University commit helped St. Henry capture the 34th District championship and reach the 9th District Volleyball Tournament Semifinals during her sophomore season.
Ryann Thomas Ryann Thomas OH Great Crossing | 2022 State KY (7): An outside hitter from upstart Great Crossing, Thomas is committed to Arkansas State University. One of the key contributors for 41st District champion Great Crossing throughout 2019, Thomas competed for Lexington United during the abbreviated 2020 club volleyball season.
Mykole Morgan Mykole Morgan MB Seneca | 2021 State KY (14): A middle hitter from Seneca, Morgan made an impact during the shortened 2022 club season. Competing for KIVA 16 Red, Morgan executed throughout the club campaign earlier in the year. A dominant performer along the middle of the net, Morgan is set to lead Seneca as a junior in the 2020 high school volleyball season.
Callie Wiegandt Callie Wiegandt S Holy Cross (Louisville) | 2022 State KY (15): A setter from Holy Cross (Louisville), Wiegandt thrived throughout her sophomore season in 2019. As a sophomore, Wiegandt recorded 897 assists, 180 digs and 63 kills. Wiegandt helped to lead Holy Cross to the 2019 21st District title and into the 6th Region Volleyball Tournament Semifinals.
Olivia Bennett Olivia Bennett DS/L Bryan Station | 2022 State KY (22): A libero from Bryan Station, Bennett is committed to the University of San Diego. Earlier in the year, during the 2020 club volleyball season, Bennett competed for Lexington United. A catalyst for Bryan Station in 2019, Bennett is poised to excel as a junior.
