Both Sunset Slam tournaments were huge successes. Not only were they great for getting teams back on the court, but they also gave the Prep Dig Scouts a great chance to see athletes from across the state. Many athletes clearly worked hard over quarantine and it showed on the court. Here are some uncommitted athletes who dominated the Sunset Slam.

[player_tooltip player_id="81312" first="Abby" last="Savatski"] - Mukwonago - Middle Hitter - Class of 2022

Abby was a powerhouse during the Sunset Slam. She really stood out when she was on the court. Abby has great shots out of the middle and a lot of power. She is a good blocker and, at 6’1”, she is tough to hit around. Abby was really impressive in transition and during in-system play.
[caption id="attachment_108022" align="alignleft" width="233"] [player_tooltip player_id="80728" first="Linnea" last="Willer"][/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="80728" first="Linnea" last="Willer"] - Freedom - Outside Hitter - Class of 2021

Linnea is a powerful pin. She has a great vertical and is aggressive on offense and defense. Her athleticism and talent make her a 6-rotation outside hitter and valuable in every rotation on the court. She reads well on defense and has a nasty back row attack.

[player_tooltip player_id="57260" first="Mary" last="Satori"] - Manitowoc Lincoln - Outside Hitter - Class of 2022

Mary is a solid pin hitter with huge amounts of power and control. She can hit very tough shots all while putting a lot of power behind the ball. She has a fast swing and can pound a ball from anywhere on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="56461" first="Avery" last="Torrey"] - Kaukauna - Middle Hitter - Class of 2021

Avery is an all-around athlete in every sense of the word. She is a leader and energizer on the court and betters the ball when she has the opportunity. She played middle at the tournament but I have also seen her set a bit and play on the pin. Avery is a dynamic player who is a valuable asset to any roster.
[caption id="attachment_108023" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="56461" first="Avery" last="Torrey"][/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="91885" first="Sophia" last="Schneider"] - Waterloo - Setter - Class of 2023

Sophia has some of the most grit I have ever seen in a volleyball player. She is highly competitive and will do what it takes to win every point. You will never see her give up on a ball or a play. She has great hands and sees the court insanely well.

[player_tooltip player_id="82287" first="Emily" last="Honzelka"] - Kettle Moraine Lutheran - Middle Hitter - Class of 2023

Emily is a very efficient middle. When she is on the court she gets the job done whether she is hitting or blocking. She makes momentum-changing plays regularly and is an energizer for her team. Emily is one of the go-to hitters on this talented KML team and is a valuable addition to any roster.

[player_tooltip player_id="81257" first="Sydney" last="Lewellin"] - Lake Mills - Setter - Class of 2022

Sydney caught my eye right away at the Sunset Slam. She is the kind of athlete that makes you lean over to the person next to you and ask “who is that?” She has a great court presence, leadership skills, and, on top of it all, she makes insane plays. Sydney can set pin to pin from anywhere on the court and is very accurate.
[caption id="attachment_108024" align="alignleft" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="56451" first="Kady" last="Stigler"][/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="56451" first="Kady" last="Stigler"] - Menomonee Falls - Libero - Class of 2021

Kady is a big talker and great passer. She covers incredibly well and will do nearly anything to stop a ball from hitting the ground. She is a huge leader on this Menomonee Falls team and was very respected by her teammates. Kady is very solid on serve receive and reads opposing hitters like a book.

[player_tooltip player_id="81279" first="Grace" last="Holschuh"] - Luxemburg-Casco - Outside Hitter - Class of 2022

Grace is an incredibly valuable 6-rotation outside. Her talent makes her nearly impossible to take off the court. Grace has power, control, and speed. She reads the court well, plays consistently on defense and serve receive, and rarely makes unforced errors.

[player_tooltip player_id="81261" first="Madisen" last="Miller"] - Appleton North - Libero - Class of 2022

If you are a college coach you should act fast because Madisen will add insane value to any college roster. She is simply an amazing volleyball player. Her ability to dig and compete against even the toughest serves and hits is impressive. She picks up balls that I didn’t even realize were possible!

Hannah Moe - Oconto - Outside Hitter - Class of 2021

Hannah is an athlete I had not seen play before the Sunset Slam and she truly impressed both sessions of the tournament. She puts up a huge swing and is a consistent blocker as well. Hannah is talented at putting balls down on out of system plays. She is a player to watch this upcoming season.

Any of these athletes would be an asset on a college roster. They work hard and impress on the court. Not only do these athletes have raw talent, but they are also leaders on the court. These athletes dominated the Sunset Slam and are set to do the same during their high school and club seasons.
