Thomas Nelson made an appearance in the 2019 5th Region Volleyball Tournament and exited last season 20-12.
Here are five Thomas Nelson players to watch.
Madison Brown: A senior middle hitter/outside hitter, Brown thrived for Thomas Nelson throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, leading the Generals in kills. Brown recorded a team-high 238 kills as well as 123 digs, 40 blocks and 17 assists during the 2019 season. Possessing solid jumping abilities, Brown is among the 5th Region’s most underrated prep volleyball players.
Kelcy Curtsinger: A sophomore libero, Curtsinger led the Generals in digs during the 2019 high school volleyball season. A defensive standout, Curtsinger posted 642 digs along with 31 assists and 25 service aces in 2019. Curtsinger excels in the back row, helping to pace the Generals.
Carol Hellard: A senior setter/right side, Hellard helped to pace Thomas Nelson in 2019. Leading the Generals in a key category, Hellard delivered a team-high 719 assists in addition to 63 kills, 50 blocks, 310 digs and 43 service aces. With a diverse skill set, Hellard is able to contribute in multiple categories and has emerged as a vocal leader.
Maddie Livingston: A sophomore outside hitter, Livingston was another key performer for 19th District frontrunner Thomas Nelson in 2019. Livingston registered 174 kills, 117 digs and 33 service aces as a freshman. A strong hitter from the left side, Livingston is athletic and agile.
Skylar Nalley: A senior middle hitter/outside hitter, Nalley made the most of her time on the court for Thomas Nelson during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Providing a strong presence at the net for Thomas Nelson in 2019, Nalley posted 120 kills as well as 92 digs. Nalley is a productive blocker, both individually and when blocking with teammates.
