A handful of these top recruits in the class of 2024 have already hit a major growth spurt and use their height to overpower that competition. Here are a four of our favorite prospects who bring size and skill to the class of 2024:

[player_tooltip player_id="107903" first="Kate" last="Halvorson"] - 6’0’’

Kate enters her freshmen year at Delano, a team in the Wright Conference (East). The team of mostly juniors and seniors did not make it to 10 wins for the season. Hopefully, they will take a chance on Kate as she has experience playing at a high level of competition with M1. She can play middle or right-side. Her best skill at this time is still her blocking; however, her strength and arm-speed continue to improve.

[player_tooltip player_id="108107" first="Emily" last="Lamb"]- 5’10’’

The Stewartville Tigers have high hopes for the younger sister of [player_tooltip player_id="58016" first="Erin" last="Lamb"] (ranked #2 in class of 2021.) We anticipate a similar style of play. Emily has been working with SMV coaches the last few years to develop skill to match her tall frame. We have seen her develop a fast arm-swing and strong instinct on how to score. Like most Tigers, she has a solid serve and love the opportunity to pass in the back-row. Look for her to be fixture for the returning state champions when her big sister graduates.

[player_tooltip player_id="107899" first="Avery" last="Jesewitz"] - 6’

Another sibling of an all-star, Avery may get a chance to take the same court as her big sister Sophie Jesewitz this year. But it takes more than size to be a part of this state championship team too. They have a handful of athletes over 6’ and it has been good for Avery to be able to get lots of reps and playing time (not on varsity.) She has also been on the top Northern Light’s team for the last few years and has stepped into a natural leadership role. She is a skilled blocker and can run a variety of plays. Big things are in the future for this young, tall athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id="107898" first="Olivia" last="Swenson"] - 6’2’’

The tallest athlete on the watch list is another sibling to other excellent athletes. Her athletic ability and size help her to contact well above others in her age group. We like her serve and her speed across the net. Another MNL athlete who is used to playing with older athletes, just like at Hopkins, where she plays on varsity. When she swings on the outside pin, she likes a fast, low set so she can catch opponents off guard with a quick snap. She has developed a variety of hits from her roll shot to her powerful hit down the line. Swenson is already drawing attention from major schools.
