Sister Duos Who Rocked the Sunset Slam

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Life is always better with a sister around, especially when you get to play volleyball together! The Sunset Slam had quite a few dynamic duo sisters who played across all divisions. These sisters complemented each other on the court and made big plays. Check out some of the sisters who competed together at the Sunset Slam!</span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Grace Demetrian (Class of 2021) and Ella Demetrian (Class of 2024) Demetrian - Appleton North</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Grace and Ella both are major players for Appleton North, a team stacked with talent in all positions. Grace is a DS/Libero who is an energizer on the court. She is a leader on the team and makes a noticeable difference when she is on the court. Ella is an incoming freshman who is one of the best pin hitters and all-around athletes in her class. She has great fundamentals and a lot of power in her swing. These sisters are a great duo who both bring a lot to the table for this Appleton North Team. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="56462" first="Jaclyn" last="Wise"] (Class of 2021) and [player_tooltip player_id="82963" first="Greta" last="Wise"] (Class of 2023) - Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jaclyn is an explosive outside hitter who is committed to Hillsdale College. She has been a huge asset to the N.E.W. Lutheran program and her sister Greta is following in her footsteps. Greta is a great blocker and powerful pin that has a great volleyball foundation. Both are very talented athletes. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Amelia Dettmering and Olivia Dettmering (Class of 2021) - Prentice</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These twins are a truly dynamic duo for Prentice. Olivia is a setter on the team and Amelia is an outside hitter - the perfect equation for a great sister act! Both are very talented athletes and are all around talented volleyball players. Sam is a pin hitter who has an incredibly high vertical. She is fairly small for a pin but that does not stop her from pounding balls over a lot of blocks. Sydney is a middle with a lot of potential. She is fast and dynamic, running complex plays and putting up a solid block. They are fun to watch play together. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rachel Kempinger (Class of 2021) and Samantha Kempinger (Class of 2023) - Fox Valley Lutheran</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rachel is a DS who has a solid platform and moves to the ball well. She is a solid and consistent athlete who has a powerful serve. Samantha is also a very consistent athlete; however, she plays on the pin. She is smart with her shots and is good at bringing in kills on out of system plays. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nina Crull (Class of 2021) and [player_tooltip player_id="91899" first="Gwen" last="Crull"] (Class of 2023)l - McFarland</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nina is a very dynamic pin hitter for McFarland. She has a powerful swing, plays defense well, and has a beast of a serve. She regularly racks up double digits worth of kills against opponents and is a very smart player. Gwen takes after her sister as a dynamic athlete. Gwen is a middle hitter who is fast and puts up a seriously massive block. She also sees the court very well and when she can’t pound the ball, she places it in a highly competitive place on the court. </span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kenzie Hanson (Class of 2021) and [player_tooltip player_id="91907" first="Kylie" last="Hanson"] (Class of 2023) - Luxemburg-Casco</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kenzie is a smart athlete and an energizer on the court. She brings in big plays on offense and defense and is very smart in out of system plays. Kenzie knows how to hustle and is great at bettering the ball. She also excels on defense and serve receive. Kylie is also an outside and has an explosive approach. Her deep cross-court shot earns her a lot of kills as does her ability to power through the block.</span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="80845" first="Olivia" last="Burcaw"] (Class of 2021) and Mallory Burcaw (Class of 2023) - Prentice</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Olivia is an all-around athlete. She has had a huge impact on the Prentice program and is one of the best D4 pin hitters in the state. Olivia is gritty and efficient on the court. She knows the game extremely well and has a very high volleyball IQ. Mallory is a middle hitter who blocks well and has a knack for powering through opponent’s blocks with her swings. These sisters make a great duo up at the net!</span></p> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bonus!</span></h3> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="56078" first="Lizzy" last="Fortune"] (Class of 2020) was coaching the McFarland team who her sister [player_tooltip player_id="57284" first="Maddy" last="Fortune"] (Class of 2022) was setting for. Lizzy is a recent grad who had a huge impact on the McFarland program.
