I went ahead and selected a few players that stood out during the day for their respective teams. I feel these players carried their teams in all the matches, and without these players, most likely, these teams wouldn’t finish where they did.

Jackie Oetterer-Washington

Setter was about the only bright spot for her team. Seem always to turn a bad pass into a good set. As the season goes on, her team will improve the passing, but Jackie was a bright spot.

[player_tooltip player_id="41768" first="Elexus" last="Pearson"]-Howell Central

The 6’0 middle puts the ball down when her team can run the middle. On a more balanced team, she would be a dominating force in the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id="41811" first="Carly" last="Glendinning"]-Timberland

This 6’1 outside do it all is a force for the Wolves. At only a junior, she will be making noise for a while at Timberland. A brilliant hitter that combines finesse and power and can play defense like a libero.

Breanna Schriemann-St. Dominic

I can’t get over this 5-8 kid. Out of nowhere, she flies in the air and hits the balls so hard you can’t help but yell for her—just a dynamic player. I loved watching her play all weekend long.

Audrey Weber-St. Dominic

I mean, the kid has been around so long I feel like she’s in her 20s. She still is so fun to watch. With her and Breanna on the outside, they make St. Dominic, so fun to watch.

Caroline Glastetter-Borgia

Caroline has come on this year to start the season. Moving from the right side to outside has helped Borgia so far. At 5-10 and vertical, she is getting over the block a lot of times. Improve her defense and passing, and she’ll become dynamite.

[player_tooltip player_id="41751" first="Maddy" last="Bushnell"]-Willard

6-2 middle can do just about everything. I would have loved to see her play back row. I think she could have quickly done it and hit some great pipes. Her slides were deadly.

[player_tooltip player_id="41750" first="Payton" last="Van Veen"]-Willard

She’s going to take someone’s head off. When she gets a hold of a ball, which is almost every time she can pound it. Great footwork always in the right place. Good defender. Big solid ballplayer and a lot of fun to watch. Another wow hitter.

[player_tooltip player_id="41802" first="Ella" last="Brinkman"]n-Borgia Tournament MVP

5-8 jumping jack with an arsenal of shots in her right arm. When she needs a finesse shot, she can deliver, or when it’s time for a statement shot, she can hit with the best of them. What makes her my MVP is her overall game. Smooth all over the court. Backrow, deadly serve, blocking, her hitting for a 5-8 outside is something else. She’s not all about power, but the placement of when and where the ball needs to go is significantly above her age level.
