Five High Performing Outside Hitters

<p><em><strong>Class of 2021</strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114439" first="Paige" last="Fortkamp"]</strong> - 5’10 | Fort Recovery<br /> Recently named the District 8 West Player of the Year, Fortkamp has been an offensive leader on the pin all season for her team. With 350+ kills on the season she has hit at a .270 average. She also has led her team at the service line. She brings arm strength and a physical style in her approach work that creates a heavy ball when hitting. Her court savvy and skills are evident in her ability to score through multiple attack points and with a range of shots through natural approach flow or in delivering cross-body follow through. Her aggressive play has helped guide her team to a 20-3 overall record thus far.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114437" first="Samantha" last="Comer"]</strong> - 5’9 | Galion<br /> Comer has good athleticism and, at 5’9, can get off the floor well in her approach work to crush a ball. She gets to the ball with good momentum build and once in the air she can hang and utilize her arm in a variety of ways based upon the opposing block and any space she identifies across the net. The offensive leader for Galion, she has amassed 300+ kills on the season while also among team leaders in total blocks, digs, and aces to earn 2020 1st team honors in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference.</p> <p><em><strong>Class of 2022</strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114461" first="Paige" last="Barber"]</strong> - 6’0 | Brecksville-Broadview Heights<br /> With a recorded jump touch near 10’, Barber can elevate and score. She has led the Bees’ offense all season that includes 350+ kills through an attempt count that is nearly three times as the next teammate. As their primary option she can swing from any location on the court and shows good vision and arm control to move the ball around. She is a complete player in that through all six-rotations she can contribute through every facet of the game. Among team leaders in several categories, she has good ball control to help stabilize the offense and puruses the ball well defensively while showing good range.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114460" first="Sabrina" last="Gremm"]</strong> - 5’11 | Gilmour Academy<br /> Gremm shows some textbook skills in her approach work with good footwork and momentum build that leads to a big double-arm lift to help her get up off the floor well. In the air she opens well to the ball. Her vision and body position allow her to swing wrist-away or down the line with great control and authority. At 17-1, Gilmour has great offensive balance with Gremm among team leaders in total kills. In the back row she has good patience and reads the court well with good first step pursuit. </p> <p><em><strong>Class of 2023</strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114532" first="Kira" last="Holland"]</strong> - 6’0 | Medina<br /> As a sophomore, Holland leads Medina’s offense as she has terminated nearly three times as many kills as her next teammate while hitting with the best efficiency on the squad at .284. The volume of work is impressive but understandable given her length and ability to make things happen both in and out of system. She has a good step-close to the ball and creates torque in the air that allows her to swing aggressively or control her arm for another shot based upon the set or the defense. Her point production comes from a variety of locations around the floor while also contributing well to their serve receive and defense. Holland will be fun to watch as she progresses through her prep career.</p>
