Class of 2024 athletes came into the high school season and took it by storm. There are quite a few freshmen earning playing time on the varsity court, so let’s jump in!
Brylee Leverenz Brylee Leverenz 5'10" | S Waukesha West | 2024 State WI – Waukesha West
Brylee is a setter on the Waukesha West varsity team and has been making a huge impact so far. She already has almost a hundred assists this season. Brylee is fast and, despite being a fairly new setter, has great hands and ball control. She is also 3rd in aces for the team with 13 and has contributed 50 digs. This young setter has a great career ahead of her with the Wolverines.
Lily Wagner Lily Wagner 5'11" | OH Germantown | 2023 State #118 Nation WI – Oconomowoc
Lily is one of the best athletes in her grade and this has earned her a starting spot on the Oconomowoc roster. She moves the ball around with ease and is just an all-around solid athlete. Watching her play, you would never know she has just started her high school volleyball career. Lily has a whopping 167 assists and 61 digs so far this season and will be a huge asset to the 2019 State Runners Up as they move into the off-season.
Eavan Finnerty – Wauwatosa East
Eavan has a lot of control as a setter. She has played every set this season and uses her strong ball control and solid hands to move the ball around the court with ease. She has 46 assists in 17 sets and has helped the Red Raiders win several matches so far this year.
Claire Luoma Claire Luoma 5'8" | DS/L Franklin | 2024 State #85 Nation WI – Franklin
Claire is a fierce competitor and has been playing all six rotations for the Sabers. In club, she is a libero, but for Franklin, she has been a 6-rotation outside. She is an explosive athlete who reads the court extremely well and pursues every single ball.
Jae Fitting Jae Fitting 5'8" | DS/L Cedarburg | 2024 State WI – Cedarburg
Cedarburg is on its way to building a strong program and Jae Fitting Jae Fitting 5'8" | DS/L Cedarburg | 2024 State WI will be a part of that. They are 5-1 in their conference and 8-3 on the season. She has 15 aces and 90 digs so far this season. She is a scrappy player who is comfortable playing even the biggest opponents. Jae will be a fun athlete to watch throughout her high school career.
Ellie Schumacher – Lake Country Lutheran
Ellie is a pin hitter with a lot of potential. She has a great vertical and can put some power behind the ball. She has earned quite a bit of playing time with LCL and has 58 kills, 10 aces, 65 digs, and 26 service receptions. Ellie is making a name for herself very early in her high school career.
Gabby Wold Gabby Wold 6'0" | OH Arrowhead | 2024 State WI – Arrowhead
Gabby Wold Gabby Wold 6'0" | OH Arrowhead | 2024 State WI is making quite an impact playing with the 2019 State Champions. She has played in the majority of their games and has contributed 52 kills, 68 digs, and 92 service receptions. She is a very valuable all-around player who can be an asset for her team across the board.
Mahek Grewal Mahek Grewal S Brookfield Academy | 2024 State WI – Brookfield Academy
Mahek has taken control of the Brookfield Academy offense. She is running a 5-1 and already has 136 assists this season. Mahek has great hands and moves the ball around efficiently. She utilizes her hitters well and will be a huge asset to this growing program.
Jayden Garret – Burlington Catholic Central
Setter Jayden Garret is having her impact on a currently undefeated Catholic Central team. This is one of the top-ranked teams in their division and is looking to go all the way in the state tournament this year. Jayden is earning a lot of experience and will continue to have a positive impact on this very dynamic team.
There are so many talented class of 2024 athletes, these are just a few of those currently earning playing time on the varsity court. All of these athletes will be so fun to watch as they continue to grow throughout their high school and club careers.
