<p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">6A State Champion Winner: </span></i></p> <p><b>Mater Academy Charter</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Hialeah Gardens, FL - Rank in Florida: 3rd</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><b>Taylor Pagan</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - 6’0” - MH, OPP - Class of 2023 </span> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Taylor Pagan is a top elite level player on MAC’s Varsity team. She has played in 37 sets this season and scored over 150 kills with a .340 hitting percentage. Taylor is an outstanding hitter that can be utilized from any position in the front row. Between her height and the speed of her arm swing, she can put a ball down practically anywhere on the opposite court. </span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><b>Angeles Alderete</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - 6’0” - OH, OPP, MH - Class of 2022 </span> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Angeles Alderete is another outstanding hitter from Mater’s Varsity team. Her height and incredible jumps get her high into the air taking her swings to a new level. Angeles, much like Taylor, is a well-rounded hitter that is successful from any position in the front row. She has played in 38 sets this season with a total of 148 kills with a .362 hitting percentage. In addition to her talent in the front row, she is also a decent defender, despite her tall frame, and can easily make serve receive passes, or dig up hard driven balls in the back row. </span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">6A State Champion Runner-Up: </span></i></p> <p><b>Leon High School - </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tallahassee, FL - Rank in Florida: 5th </span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="98936" first="Alexa" last="Washington"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - 5’9” - S - Class of 2022 </span> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="98936" first="Alexa" last="Washington"] is a standout setter from Leon’s Varsity team. This season she played in 41 sets with a total of 404 assists, 120 digs, and 81 kills. Her career stats are even more impressive, and she has received numerous awards and accolades. It is evident that Alexa is an all-around outstanding player and an asset to her team. </span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="98919" first="Cailin" last="Demps"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - 6’0” - OPP, OH, MH - Class of 2022 </span> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="98919" first="Cailin" last="Demps"] is a knockout attacker on Leon’s Varsity team. She has played in 41 sets this season and scored a total of 178 kills with a .285 hitting percentage. Overall, Cailin is a talented hitter that can approach from anywhere on the court and make a successful attack on the ball. Usually, her powerful swings easily break through the opponent’s block. Cailin is one of the top-scorers on her team and greatly contributed to their victories this season. </span></li> </ul> </li> </ul>
