Kaylee Gifford- A junior from South Warren High School, Kaylee Gifford proved to be one of the top defensive players in Region 4. She started as the Spartans libero every match this year and had incredible numbers with a whopping 34 digs in their last game! Gifford’s energy and passion is unmatched. If you watch her, you’ll be filled with the momentum and happiness she brings to the table. Her personality and high level of play makes her one of the best leaders you can have on the floor. Gifford will be a big key to the success of this team!
Reese Pennington- A big addition to this Bowling Green club is a Tennessee local, Reese Pennington, who played at East Robertson High School this past 2020 school year. She was named her district’s MVP after they clenched the district championship. Pennington is an awesome player to watch with skills in every area of the game. She takes control with her smart setter dumps and will to do whatever it takes to win. Setting is definitely one of the hardest positions, but Pennington makes it look easy with her smooth hands and strategic game knowledge. It will be fun to watch this great player on the BRAVO 17 Black team!
Maddie Rockrohr- Another junior from South Warren High School, Maddie Rockrohr was a star player for her school leading the team in kills almost every game. Their last match against the Bowling Green Purples in the district semi-finals, Rockrohr had 20 kills to end the season! She may look short on the outside, but her huge hops and ability to tool the block make her so impressive. Playing beach for BRAVO this past summer has also helped her game tremendously where she will most likely be a 6 rotation outside for this BRAVO 17 black squad. Rockrohr wants to play at the collegiate level, so keep an eye out for this stud!
Reese Payne- Standing at 6’2, Reese Payne played for Jo Byrns High School in Tennessee as one of their best offensive players. Payne’s physicality allows her to track the ball in the middle and go get multiple blocks a game. Blocking is all about the WANT to stop the ball, and Payne shows her determination throughout every play. With being a middle, it’s easy to get distracted, but one of Payne’s best qualities is her ability to stay focused in each play and give it her all. Of course being tall helps her level of play, but Payne can easily take over a match offensively with her force of an arm. Reece is still undecided about her future collegiate decisions!
