FC Elite 18 Navy

FC Elite has been shuffling some players around to find the right mix for 2021. Pin Myka Roethel (2022 – Howards Grove) has proven to be an efficient scorer on the right side in seasons past, but I’d love to see her on defense more since she used to train as a defensive specialist. Azalea Clendenning (2021 – 6’2 – Wisconsin Rapids) can play anywhere on the net as a terminal lefty. She had a strong high school campaign as she continues to improve leaps and bounds. She has always been able to get a lot of block touches but has really developed her offensive ability.

[player_tooltip player_id="27728" first="Brooke" last="Anderson"] (Northern Michigan) and [player_tooltip player_id="22384" first="Karissa" last="Kaminski"] (Dayton) will provide an impeccable 1st contact, and you can expect them to be in-system the majority of the time. Middle Blocker Lianna Baxter (2022 – 6’0 - Oconto) is a valuable addition to the team after a solid high school season. She is a defensive-minded middle who is still growing her offensive game. [player_tooltip player_id="56461" first="Avery" last="Torrey"] (Southeast Missouri State) and [player_tooltip player_id="56467" first="Joslyn" last="Wolff"] (UW-Oshkosh) will dominate at the pins while [player_tooltip player_id="91885" first="Sophia" last="Schneider"] (2023 – 5’10 – Waterloo) and [player_tooltip player_id="33730" first="Kiersten" last="Kraus"] (Kent State) run the offense. This will be a fun group to watch!

River City 18 Blue

River City brings enough talent to make a solid run this season. Abby Stas (2021 - Watertown) is a solid attacker who can influence the game offensively. Katie Palmer (2021 – Lake Mills) has improved her shot arsenal over the years and gets a lot of great touches as a blocker.

Ava Belling (2022 – Lake Mills) impressed me this fall at the Prep Dig Tournaments because she is quick, explosive, and powerful. She can do it all, and you will find her all over the court for River City. Setter Callie Krause (2022 – Fort Atkinson) is quick and utilizes her speed to keep front lines guessing.

RVA 18 Navy

RVA always manages to put together a feisty group, and this is no exception. You will find setter Emma Kowalczyk (2021 – 5’9), who had a solid senior season for Catholic Memorial, and outside Hayley Green (2021 – 5’11 – Kettle Moraine) will be one of the pins. Green has a heavy arm and a knack for scoring.

Right Side Hitter Elise Ove (2021 – 5’9 - Arrowhead) has improved, and I am looking forward to see how much this weekend. She has a solid collection of shots and is a valid threat from the pins. RVA also has one of the most tenacious libero duos in [player_tooltip player_id="80821" first="Maria" last="Serb"] (2021 – 5’6 – Catholic Memorial) and [player_tooltip player_id="80848" first="Julia" last="Zortman"] (2021 – 5’7 – Mukwonago) who will anchor the defense. Laurelei Schueller (2022 – 5’10 - Mukwonago) will be a steady and reliable middle for this roster and will maintain a solid defensive authority at the net.
