Nebraska Prep Dig Top 250: Setters & DS/Ls from Court 4!

<p>I was so impressed with the players that I watched at the Nebraska Prep Dig Top 250 this weekend!  I sensed the excitement building as soon as I walked in the door.  So many really highly respected athletes all in one place...it was impressive.  I have missed the sounds of a full gym this year during our times we were not allowed to play and I am thankful we all had an opportunity to evaluate and enjoy our time in the gym today.  I really want to thank the athletes who performed at this event.   I was very impressed with all of you and very happy to watch you do the sport you love.   Let’s talk about the setters and defensive players I saw on court four this morning.</p> [caption id="attachment_119013" align="alignleft" width="150"]<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-119013" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/12/Sydney-Sayles-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /> [player_tooltip player_id="103116" first="Sydney" last="Sayles"], 2022, S, Millard South.[/caption] <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>99 - [player_tooltip player_id="103116" first="Sydney" last="Sayles"] (2022, S, Millard South)</strong></span></p> <p>Sydney is a 5'7" setter from Millard South who has great balance, can create hittable balls, has a high volleyball IQ, and great consistency.</p> [caption id="attachment_118932" align="alignright" width="150"]<img class="wp-image-118932 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/12/Elise-Mehaffy-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /> [player_tooltip player_id="79251" first="Elise" last="Mehaffy"], 2022, S, Marion High School.[/caption] <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>77 - [player_tooltip player_id="79251" first="Elise" last="Mehaffy"] (2022, S, Marion High School)</strong></span></p> <p>Elise is a 5'11" setter from Marion High School who had 4.7 APS, 2.2 KPS, 23 total blocks, 2.0 DPS, and 24 aces with a 94.7 serve efficiency her last school season.  She can create hittable balls with tempo, has great court awareness, has great composure, and is really consistent.  She can do it all and we saw that at this event.  Great player!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> [caption id="attachment_118989" align="alignleft" width="150"]<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-118989" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/12/Madison-Sheets-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /> Madison Sheets, 2022, S, Papio South.[/caption] <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>103 - Madison Sheets (2022, S, Papio South)</strong></span></p> <p>Madison is a 5'8" setter from Papio South who had 2.2 APS, 1.1 DPS, and 9 aces with an 87.5% serve efficiency in 23 sets played.  She is a very consistent player with a great platform, creates hittable balls whenever she sets, transitions quickly to cover the block, and digs really well.</p> [caption id="attachment_118986" align="alignright" width="150"]<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-118986" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pd/uploads/2020/12/Maddie-Hinkel-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /> Maddie Hinkel, 2022, S, Sergeant Bluff-Luton.[/caption] <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>53 - Maddie Hinkel (2022, S, Sergeant Bluff-Luton)</strong></span></p> <p>Maddie is a 5'9" setter from Sergeant Bluff-Luton who has great court awareness, quick-moving feet, great jumping ability, and great parity setting her attackers.  She is a very good player and one of the best on this court for setters.  She is another really consistent player.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>118 - Alivia Wolf (2022, DS/L, Sergeant Bluff- Luton)</strong></span></p> <p>Alivia is a 5'6" DS/L from Sergeant Bluff-Luton.  She was the only DS on this court when I was evaluating.  She is really quick on her feet, athletic, extremely focused, and a good teammate who shares information with her teammates.  She seems able to put the ball where she wants it the majority of the time.  My daughter used to play in Sergeant Bluff's conference on the west side of Iowa and it was no picnic when they came to town.  These players from Sergeant Bluff are very well trained and very physically ready for anything on the court.</p>
