State Champion: Bishop Kenny High School - Jacksonville, FL - State Rank: 18th [player_tooltip player_id="98987" first="Allison" last="Cavanaugh"] - 6’3” - OH, OPP - Class of 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="98987" first="Allison" last="Cavanaugh"] is a multi-talented hitter and blocker for Bishop Kenny’s Varsity team. In the past two seasons, Allison has played in 175 and accumulated 549 kills with a .340 hitting percentage. She is also credited with 129 blocks, 66 of which are solo blocks. Allison has the ability to hit virtually any spot on the opposite court and shows an extremely high level of control over her attacks in both her approach and placement of the ball. Her blocks are wall-like in that her height and hand-control prevent many balls from crossing the net past her. As only a Sophomore, Allison is already showing high-level playing and big NCAA potential.   Runner Up: Cardinal Gibbons High School - Fort Lauderdale, FL - State Rank: 75th Valeria Lozada - 5’10” - OH, S - Class of 2021 Valeria Lozada is a well-rounded setter on Cardinal Gibbons’ Varsity team. In her senior season, Valeria played in 40 sets and had nearly 330 assists with an 8.2 assist per set average. In addition to her impressive setting abilities, she also is a skilled pin hitter. From both outside positions, Valeria is able to take a quick approach and put the ball away. She is also a talented leader on the court as both the captain of the team and setter. This underdog of a team has made an incredible play for the state title and Valeria can be credited as a big reason for their success this season.
