The 2021 club season is picking up steam! With players on new teams and all that has happened (or not happened) the past few months, there is plenty to be written over the next few months on the Wisconsin club scene. This weekend will kick off the Badger Region Power League, and there are plenty of teams that also competed in the Prep Dig Resolution last weekend. Who will make an early statement in 2021? Here are some uncommitted athletes to watch as the 18 Elite Division kicks off this weekend!
Amber Van de Hei – 2021 – Middle Blocker – Green Bay Preble – One Wisconsin Bay 18 Mizuno
Van de Hei was not able to compete in the fall due to Preble opting for the spring season, but we saw her explode in Prep Dig tournaments. She stood out again this past weekend at the Prep Dig Resolution tournament, and I would keep an eye out for her in the 18 Elite division of the Badger Region Power League this weekend. Van de Hei can score points from anywhere on the net. She has a high touch with her explosive jumping ability and will be a player to which teams will have to pay attention.

[player_tooltip player_id="117344" first="Allison" last="Ash"] – 2022 – 5'9 – Middle Blocker/Right Side Hitter – Kiel – I AM VBC 17 Red
Ash thrives in the middle but could do damage on either pin as well. She is aggressive as a server, attacker, and blocker. When the timing is just right, she can take a cut-back swing with the best of them.

[program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] always provides a strong presence for the Fox Valley area. Van Lannen consistently puts up a big block on the right side and always has wicked fast swings which are proven to be lethal from anywhere on the net. She has developed a ton over the past year both offensively and defensively. I do not think Van Lannen has plans to slow down either.
[player_tooltip player_id="118259" first="Cadence" last="Maxfield"] – 2022 – 5'8 – Setter – Notre Dame Academy – Impact 17 National
Maxfield is a major threat who is often overlooked. You can see her physicality offensively and defensively. Maxfield finds a way to connect with her attackers by running multiple routes and tempos to score points. She knows just when to run the slide, the shoot, or change it up with a back row attack, and it really keeps the opposing defense guessing.

Trotter is simply fun to watch. She is explosive, physical, and solid as a six-rotation outside. Trotter is super smooth in the pass-to-attack transition making it look super easy. There will be plenty of top players from the southeast corner of the state competing in the BRPL, and Trotter is one to watch.
[player_tooltip player_id="57252" first="Emma" last="Baierl"] – 2022 - 5'8 – Setter – Howards Grove – [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 17 Navy
Baierl will be looking to lead her club team this season with her athleticism and capability to control the game with her high volleyball IQ. She makes an impact running the offense but also with her ability to read the opposing team and being a smart defender with the ability to make a great dig. Baierl is a player of whom opponents should always be aware.
