There are three players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools. We are proud to announce that they have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Riley Braziel [2022] 5-9 Outside (HS: Boyd/Club: Fieldhouse Volleyball/Verbal: Ouachita Baptist University)
Miss Braziel is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings list but is a solid player from the North Texas area. She plays for Fieldhouse Volleyball club who is a new club in the north Texas region. She is a very bouncy junior outside hitter from Boyd high school who scores well for her size. She helped her high school team to an overall record of 19-5 and an undefeated record of 10-0. While she might be a bit smaller on the pins, she routinely times the block extremely well in order to help her defense slow down her opponent. What I like the most about it is how active her feet are during a rally. She is constantly moving and always ready to pounce on a ball. She is a solid all around player who provides a spark to any team she is on both offensively and defensively. She has just committed to Ouachita Baptist University and will do wonders for their program. They will benefit from the whip of an arm swing that this young lady possesses. She will get to continue her dream of playing at the next level. We are extremely proud of her and will enjoy covering her during club season and one more senior season next year. Please help us congratulate her on her accomplishment.
Kyla Carrier [2021] 5-5 Setter (HS: Manvel/Club: Absolute Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Southern University)
Miss Carrier is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings list but is a talented setter from the south Houston area. She plays for the famed Absolute Volleyball Academy who routinely pumps out college players. She is a smaller setter who plays exceptional defense in the right back position. She has a super strong frame that allows her to push the ball from all areas of the court to the pins so effortlessly. She keeps her posture forward during each set, which helps her setting consistency to all locations. Solid hand contact allows for that location to be pinpoint accurate. She is committed to Southern University and will be an asset to their program when she joins them next season. We are extremely proud of her choice to realize her dream of playing volleyball at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on her accomplishment.
Abby Thompson [2021] 5-2 Libero (HS: Aledo/Verbal: Dominican College)
Miss Thompson is currently an unranked prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a very skilled libero who shines in the back row for Aledo High School. In two years on Varsity she was able to accumulate 372 digs and 23 aces. She showcases a great deal of balance in her footwork both before and during contact which leads to very consistent “in-system” serve receive passes. She also shows great ability to hold her form after contact, which helps her platform integrity. She reads the opposing hitter so well prior to contact, which allows her to be in a very good position to play the ball once it is hit. I love her foot speed as it helps her track down balls well outside of her range. Dominican College will be able to use her defensive abilities all around the court next year. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level.
