The rule changes would not have allowed D1 programs to hit the road but other levels are still able to get out and check out players. There should be coaches roaming the courts in Omaha this weekend so let us highlight some of the middles in attendance still looking for the perfect match.
Tamia McClunie – MH – 6’0″ – Invasion 18 Black – USA Division
McClunie is a player who can operate in the middle and on the right pin. She looks fully recovered from an injury suffered last year. She had a strong high school season and has continued that into the club year. She was effective in the HOA Power League qualifying tournament, helping her team earn a berth. She is a solid blocker and can hit both in front and behind the setter.
Paige Huhman Paige Huhman MB Lee's Summit North | 2021 State MO – MH – 6’1″ – Mavs 816 18-1 – American Division
Paige Huhman Paige Huhman MB Lee's Summit North | 2021 State MO brings intensity and size to a program. She moves well along the front row and a pretty good defender when along the back row. She is middle who has power and reads the floor well for open spots to utilize the tip. She would be a good fit for numerous Division II and NAIA programs.
Jordan Kreps – MH/RS – 5’11″ – Mavs 816 18-1 – American Division
We really love Kreps energy on the floor. She can swing from the pin when necessary and could be her best position on the front row. Kreps utilizes her whole toolbox of shots and does a good job of tooling the block when necessary. She is a player coaches should keep an eye on this weekend.
Jada Davis – MH – 5’11″ – Highlands Performance – American Division
Davis is among the top middle blockers in the state. She has quick instincts and gets off the floor fast. She has strengths in the offensive department and runs certain balls with high efficiency. She still has room to improve on offense but will develop that with the right coaching staff.
Abby Massengill – MH – 6’0″ – Invasion 18 Black – USA Division
The 6’0″ middle will be a good pickup for a school. She is a winner and team player. She is a smart player who finds the gaps in the block. One of her strengths is her strength and power. Her transition off the net is what coaches love to see, as she always puts herself in a position to demand the ball. She had 272 kills and 73 blocks during the high school season.
