Continue ReadingThe offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
MacKenzie Mahr MacKenzie Mahr 5'8" | OH O’Connor | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-8 Outside (HS: SA O’Connor/Club: Alamo Volleyball/ Verbal: Tulane)
MacKenzie Mahr MacKenzie Mahr 5'8" | OH O’Connor | 2022 State TX is currently ranked as the 70th best prospect in the 2022 class according to our recent update to the Prep Dig State Rankings. In an article posted last month we wrote the following about her, “This firecracker of an outside is fun to watch. I had the privilege of watching her in the state playoffs this past season and was impressed with her tenacity on the court. She is a little smaller than most left sides on our list, but don’t sleep on her ability to score. She has a cannon for an arm and a fierce attitude on the court to never give up. She is able to score from literally everywhere on the court and has great court awareness. She hits at a high clip due to her ability to move the ball around so well. As the block adjusts to her mid-game, she also adjusts both the set location with her setter and where she aims the attack. If I were going into battle, she has the attitude of someone I would want right next to me. This season she was able to total 208 kills, 33 aces, 15 blocks, and 188 digs. O’Connor definitely knew its strength as they set her 616 times this season. She is primed and ready for a great club season and we will be there to watch. Please help us congratulate her on being ranked in the state with some great players.” We are proud to announce that she just recently committed to play volleyball at the next level. Mack will be playing volleyball at Tulane University. She will add a spark to the Green Wave program the moment she steps on campus. We love watching her play and couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishments. Please help us congratulate her.
Abigail Halstead Abigail Halstead 5'7" | S Brandeis | 2021 State TX [2021] 5-7 Setter (HS: Brandeis/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Saint Martin’s University)
Abigail is currently ranked as the 90th top prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We profiled her back in September and here is a little from that article, “She is a picture perfect setter who is always composed on the court. Miss Halstead has been coached extremely well in her well-known volleyball club Alamo out of the San Antonio area. You can tell by the way she moves on the court and how her posture is always correct when setting her teammates. She also plays defense for her club team and is stellar in right back. Her setting location is always on point for both quick sets and high tempo pin sets. My favorite aspect is when she is running forward and decides to set against flow and push the ball to the right side hitter for a one on one attack. The ball comes off of her hands so smoothly no matter which set she is pushing out to her hitters. Coaches should give this young lady a look as she can definitely play at the next level.” As it turns out Abby has just recently committed to play volleyball all the way up in Washington. She will be suiting up for Saint Martin’s University in the fall. They must have noticed how much she helped her Brandeis volleyball team wreak havoc on their opponents this past season. She was instrumental in their great run they had on the volleyball court. She earned 2nd Team All District and helped Brandeis to a 20-3 overall record and a 15-1 district record. She had 350 assists, 20 aces, and 241 digs in her senior season. We are extremely proud of her achieving her dream of playing college volleyball. Please help us congratulate her on her accomplishment.
Chelsea George [2022] 5-8 Libero (HS: Melissa HS/Club: Madfrog/Verbal: University of Memphis)
Miss George is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings but that will change once we update them soon. She is a fantastic libero from the North Texas area. She plays for the nationally ranked club program that is well known in Madfrog. She stars defensively for her Melissa High School program. She helped lead them to a wonderful overall record of 21-10 and a district record of 10-3. She has been tearing it up since she burst onto the varsity scene as a freshman. In three years she has some serious stats. Chelsea has accumulated 1675 digs, 2174 service receptions, and had 184 aces. It is safe to say she is the floor general in the back row and commands respect from her teammates and opponents. We are excited that she made her college choice recently. She will suit up for the Memphis Tigers in a few years and will impact their program immediately. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing volleyball at the next level.
