We pride ourselves on covering ALL levels of players throughout the huge state of Texas. We are always looking for diamonds in the rough that might not get a lot of the coverage that big named programs usually get from other publications. We have three players who we have not written about in the past year but have been in our Prep Dig Rankings since the first publishing back in March. College programs should definitely give these players a look. Follow us as we venture out to the Houston Area for three players who are still uncommitted but deserve a look from college programs.
Savanah Smith Savanah Smith 5'8" | OH Oak Ridge | 2021 State TX [2021] 5-9 Outside (HS: Oak Ridge/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Savanah is currently ranked as the 106th top prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Smith is a pin hitter from the North Houston area. She plays for a great club program in TAV Houston. While primarily playing on the left side she is a six rotation attacker who has solid passing skills also. If any smaller schools still need a pin who has excellent defensive skills, you should write her name down and give her a look this season during club tournaments and you wont be disappointed. She helped Oak Ridge to a 19-5 overall schedule and also a 7-3 record in which they qualified for the playoffs. We are excited to cover her for the rest of the club season this year.
Avery Schwartz Avery Schwartz 6'1" | MB Pearland | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-1 Middle (HS: Pearland/Club: Houston Stellar/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Avery is currently ranked as the 98th best prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Schwartz is a tall middle from the South Houston area who plays for an extremely competitive high school in Pearland High School. She also plays for a great club program down in south Houston, Houston Stellar, who will definitely teach her a lot to get ready for the next level. She has a solid and super strong upper body who routinely shuts down opposing attackers who enter her zone. She keeps her hands really high to help with timing the blocks also. I truly like how she drives hard toward her setter for the quick attacks. Her arm-swing is what stands out the most as she has a cannon that is difficult to slow down. She is talented enough to also play on the right side and hit both quick sets and high tempo sets. There are plenty of colleges who could use her size and power and should definitely give her a look this club season now that it is underway. We are looking forward to watching her play in tournaments.
Evyn Snook Evyn Snook 6'1" | OH Magnolia West | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-1 Setter/Right Side/Outside (HS: Magnolia West/Club: Woodlands Revolution Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Evyn is currently ranked as the 56th top prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Snook is a tall drink of water who can play at any position along the net. She has played some right side this season with her Woodlands Revolution club and has been amazing so far. She is a strong 2023 player who we think has a high ceiling to progress further. We love that she is capable of hitting all locations along the net and has tremendous passing/defensive skills as well. She is a true threat at any position you play her at. She is a dual sport athlete at Magnolia west who plays basketball and volleyball. She has started on varsity since her freshman year and in only two seasons she has amassed some great stats. She has 671 assists, 77 aces, 334 digs, and also 470 kills. She can truly do it all for any team she is on. She has what it takes to move up the rankings in the future. We will keep our eye on her this club season, but for programs who need some size on their roster, I suggest you give her a solid look.
