<p>Class 2A featured several juniors who amassed big kill numbers.</p>
<p>All five of these student-athletes will be heading into their senior seasons next fall and are members of the 2022 recruiting class.</p>
<p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="105632" first="Lauren" last="Schutter"] 6’1”, Wabaunsee </strong>– Schutter finished her junior season with 438 kills and 179 blocks She is tall, can jump, hits hard, and knows how and when to utilize a tip. Big 12 coaches and other DI volleyball scouts better start getting in line to recruit Schutter. The Wabaunsee junior plays club ball with KC Power.</p>
<p><strong>OH, [player_tooltip player_id="123123" first="Brooke" last="Hammond"], 5’8”, Garden Plain</strong> – Hammond led the Owls in kills with 326. She is a six-rotation player who excels on defense as well. She finished the 2020 season with 236 digs. Hammond is probably a fringe DII prospect but would be a solid fit for NAIA and JUCO programs.</p>
<p><strong>OH, Halle Rutschman, 5’9”, Herington </strong>– Rutschman is a two-sport star for the Railroaders. She finished her 2020 high school season with 223 kills to rank among Class 2A leaders. She also finished with 416 aces. She will likely be recruited to play college basketball and volleyball.</p>
<p><strong>MH, Emma Yungeberg , 6’0”, Valley Heights –</strong> Yungeberg has an athletic frame and a big reach. She finished her junior season with 222 kills. She also racked up 79 blocks for the Mustangs.</p>
<p><strong>OH, [player_tooltip player_id="105662" first="Sammie" last="Saunders"], 5’9”, Hillsboro –</strong> The Hillsboro Trojans will be a team to watch in 2021. A powerful hitter on that squad is Saunders who will look to improve on her impressive junior stats. She finished with 220 kills and can also hit from the middle. Saunders plays club ball for Fight Club out of Wichita.</p>
