Class of 2022 Commitment Update

We take a dive into the Class of '22 commitments thus far. These girls have worked very had over their volleyball careers between high school teams and club teams, making sure that they bring forth the best of their athletic abilities. Here are five of our top athletes.   [player_tooltip player_id="61622" first="Katie" last="Hurta"]- Lyons Township Committed: Indiana Hurta is a versitile setter and is definitely an elite athlete on the court. Hurta is a consistent and is one that is going to be benefits to the Hoosiers. Hurta is an important assist, as she has a very powerful right swing and knows how to use it well when it comes to getting a kill on her opponents. Hurta managed to have 75 kills this season, which brings her total career kills to 434 kills, as she had 359 kills last season. Hurta is a attentive on the court and defensive when it comes to reflecting the ball and sets up her plays very well and strategic. Hurta is going a great fit for the Hoosiers and is going to flourish in her development into a collegiate athlete. [player_tooltip player_id="61696" first="Rian" last="Baker"]- Fremd Committed: Wake Forest Baker is and has always been an elite athlete that shines whenever she steps foot on the court. Baker is Illinois’ top elite setters, as she is attentive and very consistent with her sets in making sure her sets finish with a kill. Baker is an overall well rounded athlete from her foundation and fundamentals, she is a setter that makes you want to continuing watching. Baker is going to fit in at Wake Forest as her current skill sets and fundamentals are only going to continue to get better at a collegiate level. We are excited to see how she continues to play and how her development changes. Carolina Kerr- St. Thomas More Committed: Tennessee Kerr is just another outstanding athlete that we are going to see at the collegiate level. Standing at 5’11", Kerr has managed to use her height and position to secure her commitment within the Tennessee program as that was an important factor when it came to commitment. Kerr has had an impressive athletic career thus far with 217 sets played with 2094 assists, 534 digs, 104 aces and 263 kills. The setter is very strategic when it comes to setting up perfect plays and making sure that her sets result in the kill. Kerr is going to fit right in with Tennessee’s program and I congratulate her on the commitment. [player_tooltip player_id="61624" first="Ella" last="Holmstrom"]- Guilford Committed: Indiana Holmstrom is another athlete who made a name for herself through her outstanding athletic abilities on the court. The 6’2" OH, landed on the varsity team her freshman year and made it imperative that she did not move from that position. Holmstrom is a very powerful player and has a very strong right swing when it comes to getting the kill on the ball. Holmstrom has the advantage with her height and with collegiate training, she is only going to get better in perfecting her fundamentals and foundation. Holmstrom is going to continue to turn heads and hopefully bring more attention to her athletic abilities. [player_tooltip player_id="61712" first="Anna" last="McClure"]- St. Thomas More Committed: Ohio State McClure is a very strong and powerful player when it comes to stepping out on the court and getting the job done. McClure has a very strong right arm and is consistent with most of her kills. The 5'9" OH, has had a very successful career this far with have been seen in 174 sets with 542 kills, 50 blocks, 459 digs and 83 aces. McClure is not just a strong and powerful hitter, but she is a very attentive defender and makes sure that the ball does not touch the ground. She is fast on her feet and very aware with her surroundings and makes sure she puts her best foot forward on the court.
