Since Texas has it’s fair share of players over 6 feet tall, I figured I would keep a series of articles highlighting these players. We are bouncing around the state with this article as there are some new additions to our State Rankings that tower over everyone that we would like to introduce to you in the 2023 class We haven’t written about them before and would like to introduce them with their State Ranking attached to their name. Without further ado, here are some six-footers who are turning some heads:
Hannah Whittingstall Hannah Whittingstall 6'2" | MB Alamo Heights | 2023 State #75 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Middle (HS: Alamo Heights/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We would like to introduce you to Hannah Whittingstall Hannah Whittingstall 6'2" | MB Alamo Heights | 2023 State #75 Nation TX from the class of 2023. We have just added her as the 45th best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings in this last update this month. She plays at Alamo Heights high school and club for the nationally known Alamo Volleyball club out of San Antonio. This six foot two middle has been instrumental in helping her high school varsity squad go 17-3 overall and 14-2 in district last season. Hannah has been a stud for them for two years on varsity and has been able to accumulate 540 kills on a .386 hitting percentage, 173 blocks and 75 aces. She is an intimidating force for her Alamo 16 Premier team and they have once again proven that they are one of the best teams in their age group in the Lone Star Region with their play this season. We know coaches will love her size, power, and athleticism once they see her play. Please congratulate Hannah on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas. We look forward to covering her progress on the court.
Nicole Mauser Nicole Mauser 6'3" | RS Highland Park | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-3 Right Side (HS: Highland Park/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Uncommitted)
We would like to introduce you to Nicole Mauser Nicole Mauser 6'3" | RS Highland Park | 2023 State TX from the class of 2023. We have just added her as the 47th best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings in this last update this month. She plays at Highland Park High School and club for the amazing Texas Advantage Volleyball club out of the Dallas Metro-Plex area. This six foot three right side has been dominant on every team she has been on. The shut-down right side is an imposing force against opposing outside hitters. She routinely goes against the best hitters of her opponents and slows them down well. What I love about her play is just how fluid she is in relation to her frame and how she moves on the court. She has every tool to continue to move up the rankings as the years go by. We will be watching very closely as she continues to progress under the tutelage of some of the best trainers in the nation at TAV. She had her TAV squad will be competing at USA Nationals this summer and will look to prove that they are one of the best in the nation. Please congratulate Miss Mauser on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas. Stay tuned as we cover her throughout her volleyball journey
Reese Robins Reese Robins 6'5" | MB Timberview | 2023 State #15 Nation TX [2023] 6-5 Middle (HS: Mansfield Timberview/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We would like to introduce you to Reese Robbins from the class of 2023. We have her listed as the 51st best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Mansfield Timberview High School and club for the new but stellar Drive Nation club out of the North Texas Region. Miss Robbins is a force to be reckoned with out of the middle. Her size and power are what most people see when they walk by her court, but to the trained eye we see how quick and agile she is for her size. We love the athleticism, as she is a great balance of size, power, and speed. She routinely puts away any overpass near her zone. Towering over most players in her age group so far makes it easy to hit over them. But when you witness her arm swing, you will see amazing form with helps her thunderous attack be even harder. I almost feel sorry for the ball as she hits it because of the power that she possesses. We along with most coaches agree that this young lady will shoot up the rankings as the years pass by just by how well she is able to cut the ball around a block. Her Drive Nation team is making some serious moves in the national rankings and will prove themselves this summer at USA Nationals. Please congratulate Miss Robbins on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas.
