The most important moment of the season is just around the corner for teams from the 15s, 16s and 17s age group from around the country as the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 26-July 5.

As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 50 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.

During the next few weeks, we'll use this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.

Madison Scrivner – Setter – HS: Northwest - 2024

Setters generally play important roles on their teams and Madison Scrivner is no exception. At 5'8”, she's got great size for the position, which allows her to play as a right sider when needed, and, most importantly, great touch on the ball, which made her finish her first school season with Northwest with 228 assists. Scrivner is also really quick to get on the ball and that helps tremendously with her accuracy. A left-handed setter, she can also switch between pushing the tempo or playing more conservatively according to what each match calls for and is a

Angelina Masojc – Middle Blocker – HS: Midlothian - 2024

There aren't many six-footers in the division and Angelina Masojc is one of them. The middle blocker uses her size to operate well at the net and is more coordinated and mobile than many would imagine. She moves really well at the net, which means her big block gets to stand on the opposing hitters' way more often they'd like to. On offense, her impressive reach gives her a good advantage and she adds to it with her powerful right arm.

Taryn Barnes – Outside Hitter – HS: Carroll -2024

Taryn Barnes is what would be called in professional volleyball of a volume player. Due to her great technique, especially on defense, she manages to keep the ball up in the air and give her team more opportunities to score. Barnes' superior ball control is certainly the most eye-catching aspect of her game and one that allows her to play as a defensive specialist but, at 5'8”, she's also very intelligent and efficient at the net, especially when she needs to find solutions for a back row or an out-of-system set.
