As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 60 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.
During the next few weeks, we’ll use this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.
Flyers 16 APX-Gi

Led by head coach Yong Gi, the group of players has had a prolific season so far with 36 wins and 14 losses. Some of their most relevant results include a third-place finish at the Texas President’s Day Invitational and a fifth at the Adidas Lone Star Classic.

Players to Watch
Olivia Sanchez – Outside Hitter – HS: Argyle – 2023
Olivia Sanchez is a key player in Flyers 16 APX-Gi’s playing system just because of her ability to perform well in a variety of skills. The 5’9” outside hitter plays bigger than her size at the net thanks to her strong leaping ability and impeccable shot selection. Sanchez, who typically starts her approach slow brings a lot of power to her final two steps, also has a heavy arm, which makes her even more difficult to stop. She’s also an excellent passer and a solid defender.
Hannah Jackson – Middle Blocker – HS: John Paul II – 2023
Hannah Jackson is a vigilant presence in Flyers 16 APX-Gi’s net. The 5’10” middle blocker is very active in controlling the actions and she does a good job on both ends of the ball. Jackson’s offense is well-diversified as she can hit quite a few different balls, from slide sets to shoot sets. Her good mobility and superior body control are very helpful when she’s blocking as well.
Sydney Sabin – Setter – HS: Independence – 2023
Sydney Sabin is a modern type of setter, one that brings more to the table than just great touch on the ball. She does a great job when running Flyers 16 APX-Gi’s offense but also manages to be important in areas of the game. The 5’6” Sabin is an excellent defender and a prolific server, bringing tons of value to her team.
