Any tournament for the 15s provides a unique opportunity to watch players in the early stages of their development and it’s always exciting to notice how much potential these young athletes have to develop in their careers.
PrepDig.com was there and took note of each of the 14 teams that competed in the tournament and now we’re taking the week to provide our reports and highlight the prospects that stood out.
These outside hitters showed they can do it all on a volleyball court and here’s what you need to know about them.
Abigail Omelan – Texas Tornados 15 Black – HS: Tomball Memorial – 2024
Abigail Omelan was one of the most impressive outside hitters in the event with a game that combines good physical tools, technical skills and a high volleyball IQ. A 5’8” hitter, she saw the ball very often at the net but instead of unleashing all her power on it, Omelan frequently went with the smarter play, finding open spots on the court. She also showed a great backcourt game and had a few good runs from the service line.
Prestyn Parish – AVB 15 Royal – 2025
Few players did better at the net than Prestyn Parish. Very long and athletic, the AVP 15 Royal outside hitter was a key player in her team’s campaign and delivered great performances during the day. Very strong at the net, Parish showed great ability to score from the back row too and complemented a strong offensive game with good passing and digging skills. She also proved to be very versatile, blocking in the middle in some rotations.
Madalynn Williams – Texas Outlaws 15 Black – HS: Hargrave – 2024
Madalyn Williams was one of the most physical players in the tournament. Very tall and strong, the Texas Outlaws 15 Black outside hitter had a clear advantage against opposing blockers at the net and most of the time she could avoid them her hard hits proved to be too much for defenders across the net. Williams can also play defense and created some problems for opponents with her tough serve.
Sara Boyett – Xcel Volleyball 159 – 2025
Sara Boyett was another outside hitter to stand out. Her trademark is her consistency as she rarely struggles in games and is able to maintain a very good level during long stretches. Boyett is one of those players who make her teammates better with her well-round game and superior passing and digging skills. She had a long serving run in a key moment for Xcel Volleyball 159 in the tie-breaker of a three-set win against Spike Sport Red on pool play.
