Any tournament for the 15s provides a unique opportunity to watch players in the early stages of their development and it’s always exciting to notice how much potential these young athletes have to develop in their careers.
PrepDig.com was there and took note of each of the 14 teams that competed in the tournament and now we’re taking the week to provide our reports and highlight the prospects that stood out.
Liberos are an instrumental part of every team’s playing system and these three left a really positive impression.
Bria Gordon – Texas Tornados 15 Black – HS: Grand Oaks – 2024
Bria Gordon showed a really strong defensive game with her Texas Tornados 15 Black team. The 5’5” defender has great speed and the combination of it with her superior positioning generated a lot of digs for the team. Another thing that stands out about Gordon is that she’s very focused on perfectly executing every technical action, even when working on a free ball. She was also one of just a few players in the event to present a jump spin serve.
KyLeigh Cambiano – Xcel Volleyball 159 – 2025
KyLeigh Cambiano’s most valuable asset as a libero might be her confidence. Despite her young age, the Xcel Volleyball 159 defender never seems worried when a tough serve or a hard hit comes her way and confidence can take you a long way in the defensive side of the game. She also has great technique and is electric on the court, moving around and chasing the ball with a lot of speed and energy.
Erin Rivers – Texas Outlaws 15 Black – 2024
Erin Rivers was a stud for Texas Outlaws 15 Black during the event. Very consistent and reliable, the libero is a passing specialist and was able to cover a large portion on the court on serve-receiving, leaving the hitters free to do their thing at the net. Rivers also showed to be a very positive influence on her teammates as she frequently motivating and instructing them.
