As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 70 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.
For the last few weeks, we’ve been using this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.
Brazos Valley 16 National
16 National will represent the Brazos Valley Juniors Volleyball Club out of the College Station area in the GJNC, competing in the 16 Patriot division. The group of players coached by Patrick Hazlett has been active in the club season, having played 47 matches and won 24 of them. They had top ten finishes in the United Challenge (second), the Roots #2 (fourth) and the ATX Showcase (seventh).

Players to Watch
Kathryn Fox – Middle Blocker – HS: Allen Academy – 2023
Kathryn Fox is instrumental for Brazos Valley 16 National’s offense and defense. The 6’2” middle blocker is one of the team’s main hitters due to her ability to score from the middle or the right. Fox is very long and makes it really difficult for opposing blockers to match her reach at the net. That, of course, adds up well to her blocking ability too as she moves well at the net and also places her arms well across it. She also has good technique and is well coordinated.
Hadley Klock – Setter – HS: Brazos Valley – 2023
Hadley Klock does a great job running Brazos Valley 16 National’s offense as she’s a very technical and smart setter but the best thing about her game is that she can do it all on the court. The 5’8” prospect is also a dangerous server and an excellent defender, having registered 66 aces and 268 digs to go with her 207 assists in two years of high school volleyball for Brazos Volley. She also uses her size well and produced nearly 300 points (211 kills and 69 blocks) at the net for the Mustangs in two seasons.
Kennedy Porter – Libero – HS: Bryan – 2023
Kennedy Porter does a tremendous job for Brazos Valley 16 National at the backcourt. The defender seems to be in multiple places at the same time due to her quickness and never gives up on trying the ball up in the air. Most of the time she manages to do just that with her outstanding positioning and superior ball control.
