As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 70 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been using this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.
Flyers 15 APX-Bill
15 APX-Bill is one of two 15s teams from the Frisco Flyers Volleyball Club to compete in the GJNC this year. The roster will play in the competitive 15 Open division in Las Vegas and is expected to arrive in Nevada in top form after completing the club season with an outstanding 40-8 win record. Among the trophies lifted by head coach William Raitt and his players are the ones of the Texas Star and the North Texas Invitational (NTI).

Players to Watch
Jessica Jones – Middle Blocker/Right Sider – HS: Wakeland – 2024
Jessica Jones is a formidable middle blocker who plays well beyond her years. As a 6’2” prospect, one would expect her to take huge advantage from shorter opponents at the net as she does just that, but not only because of her size and also due to her quick feet. Jones moves really well for someone of her size and age and that frequently puts her in a great position to hit or block. Her game is really well-developed and she by no means relies on her size alone. Jones is a very interesting prospect to follow because she got the physical and technical tools to bring her game to another level.
Addison Sohosky – Right Sider/Middle Blocker – HS: Frisco – 2024
Addison Sohosky is a versatile prospect that can play anywhere at the net. She played as a middle blocker during the high school season for Frisco but her ability to score (she registered 137 kills and 42 blocks as a freshman) made Flyers 15 APX-Bill decide to use her on the right. The position is a great fit for her skill set as the 5’10” Sohosky is very physical and athletic and bring a lot of power to the team at the net.
Paloma Gonzalez – Middle Blocker – HS: Bishop Lynch – 2024
Middle blocker is certainly a position of strength for Flyers 15 APX-Bill as Paloma Gonzalez forms a strong duo with Jones. A six-footer, she’s very active at the net and combines her high-energy attitude with a skilled and intelligent game. Gonzalez is very physical and she puts a lot of energy on everything she does on the court, either on the offensive or the defensive side of the game.
