As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 50 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.
During the next few weeks, we’ll use this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.
Roots 15 UA Blue
One of the two 15s teams from the Roots Volleyball Club from Austin to qualify, 15 UA Blue will compete in the 15 Patriot division. Head coach Robyn Taliaferro’s squad has had a season with some ups and downs, registering 28 wins and 23 losses so far. The team has done a good job in finishing in the top ten of several tournaments, including fourths at the TCS Stop in Houston, the Tour of Texas/TCS Stop 2 and the Roots #4 and sixth at the Roots #6.
