Continue ReadingAt the Prep Dig Gauntlet, there were plenty of players who had a knack for scoring points. Whether it be with a booming swing, using the block, or a mix of a shots to keep the defense off balance, there were plenty of ways these athletes put points on the board. At a high level, everyone can hit the ball hard, but to get to a different level, it’s a matter of how you use all those tools and at what times. Here are the pure point scorers.
Chloe Werner Chloe Werner 5'10" | RS Waterford | 2022 State WI …been tweeting her name a lot. She good. 2022 right side @StingBurlington pic.twitter.com/DR34Qw00Ln

Chloe Werner Chloe Werner 5'10" | RS Waterford | 2022 State WI – Burlington United 17 Orange
At the beginning of the season, I don’t think I knew much about Chloe Werner Chloe Werner 5'10" | RS Waterford | 2022 State WI and in the past couple months I keep including her in tweets and articles because I think she is one of the best available in the Class of 2022 in Wisconsin. She swings mostly from the right side, but had to play a little bit of middle this weekend. She has a high contact point, is very aggressive and isn’t afraid to let it rip.
Lauren Foerster Lauren Foerster 5'10" | OH Westosha Central | 2022 State WI – Sky High 17-1 NS
Another 2022 six rotation outside who is definitely on the rise. The soon to be Westosha Central Senior brings such a physical style to the pin where she packs a punch. She is also really smooth with her backrow ability from serve receive and pass to attack. Great court intangibles and lots of skill, she will be a steal at the next level.
2023 outside Taylor Tetzlaff Taylor Tetzlaff 6'0" | OH Kaukauna | 2023 State WI with the big swing and kill for @FCEliteVB – Capital has advanced to the championship. @FCEliteVB took set one pic.twitter.com/uBkwFIw91r
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) May 31, 2021
Taylor Tetzlaff Taylor Tetzlaff 6'0" | OH Kaukauna | 2023 State WI and Kaitlin Schulz Kaitlin Schulz 6'0" | OH Kimberly | 2023 State WI – FC Elite 16 Navy
This combo have paced FC Elite all season and they are tough to stop when they are on. Schulz gets better each time I see her step on the court. She brings a big arm swing and explosive approach. Tetzlaff is a six rotation pin who is always an outlet out of the backrow and out of system. This team has a great chemistry that will lead them to some big wins come June in Louisville and Vegas.
Solid combo for @CapitalVbAll 16 Adidas with Evin Jordee and Ellie Gustafson Ellie Gustafson 5'10" | OH Monticello | 2023 State WI . #pdgauntlet pic.twitter.com/GH8xNbVBVR
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) May 30, 2021
Ellie Gustafson Ellie Gustafson 5'10" | OH Monticello | 2023 State WI – Capital 16 Adidas
I hadn’t seen Gustafson live since last summer at the Prep Dig Summer Showcase, but she came back to the Gauntlet as a new player. Her strength and physicality at the net was impressive. She was hitting a heavy ball and mixing in shots where she was scoring points all over the place. She was also a primary pacer in serve receive. Very impressive!
Lydia Biggin Lydia Biggin 5'10" | RS Burlington | 2022 State WI – Sting 17 White
The lefty right side is so tough to defend for Sting 17 White who won the 17/18 division. Biggin touches high and brings a high IQ to the court where she knows how to mix in the tips, rolls, and when to swing away. She’s crafty/aggressive where she knows how to expose the weakness on the other side of the net.
Briana Binagi Briana Binagi 5'10" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2024 State WI – Sting 15 Black
Binagi came up in big situations for Sting 15 Black this weekend where she can play on either pin, but right side was the spot for her at the Gauntlet. She is a solid blocker, but also a really efficient attacker where finds the open spot or a tool off the block.
Izzy Vandeschraaf – ESVBC 15U Elite Ice
ESVBC was down a few athletes and Vandeschraaf stepped in and played a few positions. She was swinging out the middle, left side, right side, and backrow. She hits the ball square everytime and has a knack to rack up plenty of kills.
Hannah Greisen Hannah Greisen OH Notre Dame Academy | 2024 State WI – FC Elite 15 White
Greisen is coming into her own where she is rising as a 2024 attacker. Uber athletic, Greisen was on the Notre Dame Academy state championship basketball team and her physicality and athleticism translates to the volleyball court as well. Still relatively new to high level volleyball, she will only continue to get better and will be one to watch this summer and into her 16s year in 2022.
Bella Van Lannen Bella Van Lannen 6'0" | RS Appleton North | 2022 State WI – FC Elite 17 Navy
The Northern Colorado commit hits at such a high efficiency for FC Elite 17 Navy. She has a high contant point and hits is square from the middle and right side. This past spring she doubled up seasons and won an alternate state title for Appleton North where she was utilized mostly out of the middle.
PD Gauntlet time! @SkyHighVB Adidas Soph’s MacKenzie Pitera is super explosive from the pin! @PrepDigChris @prepdigil @prepdigrachel pic.twitter.com/UCp0rif55G
— Breit Nelson (@BreitNelson) May 29, 2021
Mackenzie Pitera – Sky High 17 Sophs
It didn’t take long for the Prep Dig scouts to notice Patera who jumps out of the gym for Sky High 17 Sophs. This team is comprised of 2023 athletes, but have been playing up a division and they are dangerous. They compete. Patera is an outside hitter who skys and can find the open spot. Very impressive and needs to be on the list of college coaches for 2023 outside hitters.
@VCUvolleyball commit Katie Heidenrich Katie Heidenrich 5'10" | OH Nicolet | 2022 State WI with such an electric arm for @StingBurlington pic.twitter.com/YfRqCdKRif
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) May 30, 2021
Katie Heidenrich Katie Heidenrich 5'10" | OH Nicolet | 2022 State WI – Burlington United 17 Orange
The VCU commit has an electric arm. At Prep Dig we do sometimes miss athletes on the rise and that was the case with Heidenrich. She has exploded this past year and has had a huge club season in 2021. She will be exciting to watch her Senior season and Nicolet as well as compete in the A10 with VCU.
Aida Shadewald Aida Shadewald 5'11" | OH Sauk Prairie | 2022 State #184 Nation WI – Madison United 17 Red
Shadewald is a Wright State commit where she was a highly recruited prospect who attends Sauk Prairie High School. She can score points from the pin or the backrow where she always has solid hand contact and knows how to find the deep corners. Madison United was the only team to defeat eventual champion in Sting 17 White.
Big swing by Grace Ulatowski of @1stAllianceVBC 16 Black. They will be in the hunt for some 🏆🏆🏆 this weekend #pdgauntlet pic.twitter.com/3m7pJWtK8s
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) May 29, 2021
Grace Ulatowski – 1st Alliance 16 Black
1st Alliance 16 Black has a full lineup of attackers who are so dynamic. Ulatowski was one from the outside who could really put some pace on the ball, scoring a variety of ways. This team plays with so much energy, they are engaged, play with a spark, and now how to create their own energy with a big celebration. Such a fun squad.
Samantha Fisch Samantha Fisch 6'1" | MB Luther Prep | 2023 State WI – Sting 16 Black
Fisch is a big time point scorer out of the middle. She can run all the tempos and can attack off of one foot. She had a big weekend for Sting Black who finished in the final four of the 15/16 Division. They will compete at USAV in the 16 National Division. Fisch hits it square and solid where she is aggressive, shes not looking to throw or tip, she is smash mouth volleyball.
2022 MB Morgan Neitzel Morgan Neitzel MB Heritage Christian | 2022 State WI having a huge weekend for RVA. Hitting high and really making her presence knowing at the net. RVA is closing in on a one seed heading into Gold tomorrow
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) May 30, 2021
Morgan Neitzel Morgan Neitzel MB Heritage Christian | 2022 State WI and Abby Savatski Abby Savatski 6'1" | MB Mukwonago | 2022 State WI – RVA 17 Navy
This combo was on fire all weekend. Savatski is a Winona State commit and brings a smart, savvy style to the court where Neitzel has show drastic improvement since the beginning of the club season. She always had the height and length, but she is playing with plenty of confidence and scoring in a variety of ways. She consistently found the corner of the court for plenty of points over the weekend.
