The 15s were the first to bring their season to an and as club teams from Texas had a strong showing in the tournament. The Lone Star state had 39 representatives in Nevada and ten of them finished in the top-10 of their divisions with five going as far as securing a podium finish.
If you weren’t paying that much attention or found it difficult to follow, here’s where you can find a quick breakdown of each Texas team’s campaign in Las Vegas. Today we’ll recap the 15 USA division.
HJV 15 Elite (3rd – 8 wins, 2 losses)
The team from the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club was the most successful Texas side in the division, finishing third with a 8-2 win record in Las Vegas. HJV 15 Elite played tie-breakers in their first three matches, winning two of them, and after that got on a seven-match winning streak. Their run only ended in the Gold Bracket semifinals, where they fell to eventual champions A5 15-LA.

Madfrog 15’s N Black (5th – 7 wins, 2 losses)
Representing the traditional club form the North Texas region, the team got a top-five finish thanks to a solid campaign that included seven wins and just two losses. Madfrog 15’s N Black was almost perfect on pool play, winning four out of five matches – they only lost to A5 15-Victor. Three wins in a row sent the team to the Gold Bracket, where they lost to third-place finishers Shockwave 15 Adidas Black.

HJV 15 Premier (13th – 4 wins, 5 losses)
The Houston Juniors Volleyball Club managed to have both of its teams in the top-15 as HJV 15 Premier ranked 13th after winning four of their nine matches in the tournament. The team had ups and down on pool play, winning three of their five matches, and kept the same rhythm until the end. A setback to HJV 15 Elite sent the team to the Silver Bracket A, where they were eliminated by Top Select 15 Elite Blue.

Tejas 15 Black (13th – 4 wins, 5 losses)
Representing the Tejas Volleyball Club from the Arlington area, the team ranked 13th and won four of their nine matches in Las Vegas. Tejas 15 Black had a good start on pool play, with back to victories against Momentum 15 Rachel and Shockwave 15 Adidas but lost the next two, including one to HJV 15 Elite. The team secured another win on pool play and one more on Round 2, but then lost their final three matches, the last of them to USA South 15 Premier Purp.
FH 15 Ikaika-Annette (18th – 5 wins, 5 losses)
The team representing the Fieldhouse Volleyball Club from the Fort Worth area had a solid campaign in Las Vegas, getting five wins and five losses to finish 18th. FH 15 Ikaika-Annette had an unlucky draw and lost a close match to eventual champions A5 15-LA to start its campaign. The team rebounded well, winning three in a row to finish pool play strong. Three straight setbacks derailed things a bit but once again the squad responded well, with wins over A4 Volley 15 Tyler ad TAV 15 Gold. Those were their last triumphs, though, as they were eliminated next y Forza1 North 15 UA in the Bronze Bracket.

TAV 15 Gold (19th – 3 wins, 6 losses)
The team from the Houston area did the most of their three wins in Las Vegas, finishing 19th despite six losses. Two of those happened on pool play, where TAV 15 Gold defeated AZ Revolution 15 Elite and CoJrs 15 Kirk in back-to-back matches. The team lost to two fellow Texans, SA Juniors 15 Adidas and Madfrog 15’s N Black, before defeating DME Adidas Elite 15U, but saw its campaign end at the hands of another team from the Lone Star state, FH 15 Ikaika-Annette.
SA Juniors 15 Adidas (22nd – 4 wins, 6 losses)
With four wins and six losses, the team from the strong San Antonio club had to settle for 22nd in Las Vegas. SA Juniors 15 Adidas started well, winning pool play matches against CoJrs 15 Kirk, AZ Revolution 15 Elite and TAV Gold, but loss four out of five matches from the Round 2 on, defeating just Livewire 15 Adidas. Their final setback came against A4 Volley 15 Tyler.
HOU Stellar 15 Elite (26th – 5 wins, 6 losses)
The team from the Houston Stellar club might have left Las Vegas with the feeling that they could have gotten a better finish than 26th after winning six matches. Their problem, however, was not doing well on pool play, as after prevailing over Dynasty 15 Blue on their opening match, HOU Stellar 15 Elite lost five in a row. They responded with consecutive wins against Wave 15 Jaye, Rockwood Thunder 15 Navy, Dynasty 15 Blue (again) and Momentum 15 Rachel, but ended losing.

AJV 15 Molten (33rd – 3 wins, 6 losses)
The lowest-ranked team from the Lone Star state in the division, AJV 15 Molten got to celebrate only three wins in nine matches in the tournament and finished 33rd in the 36-team division. It didn’t seem that way in their opening match, when the team from Austin upset ARVC 15N1 Adidas, but that result was followed by back-to-back losses. AJV 15 Molten won again in pool play against Memphis VB Academy 15 and once more against CoJrs 15 Kirk on Round 2, but ended the tournament with three-straight losses, the last of them against Premier Nebraska 15 Red.
